If The Witcher 3’s sunsets keep pulling your attention away from the quest, pause and use Photo Mode to capture the view. The Remastered update lets you adjust the weather and time of day for a screenshot, so you can save the scene and get back to the path when you’re ready.
Make the sunset a screenshot, not a detour
The expanded Photo Mode in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered lets you set weather and time of day to compose a scene. The game’s support page describes Photo Mode as a way to take screenshots. That makes it a natural option when you want to preserve a view without continuing to wander around looking for the perfect light. CD PROJEKT RED’s Remastered update notes describe the expanded mode; the official Photo Mode support page covers its screenshot purpose.
- Pause when a view catches your eye and open Photo Mode.
- Adjust the weather or time of day to frame the scene you want.
- Take the screenshot, then return to the game when you’re satisfied.
This is a way to capture a moment, not a setting that changes how distracting the scenery feels during ordinary play.

It’s a personal reaction, not an established problem shared by all players. A PC Gamer reviewer described “stopping regularly just to survey a sunset skybox,” an example of one writer being drawn into the scenery—not a statistic about players generally. PC Gamer’s October 2026 review provides that context.

What “Remastered” means for owners
CD PROJEKT RED says The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered became available on September 29, 2026, as a free upgrade for existing owners on GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The publisher says Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are included, and that Remastered replaces Complete Edition on supported platforms. Check the publisher’s announcement for the platform and ownership details: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered is available now. The official 2023 Complete Edition retail announcement concerns the earlier physical release; existing eligible owners do not need to buy that older edition to get the update.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Should you change graphics settings?
The update notes describe platform-specific graphics and performance options, as well as HDR calibration changes. Which option suits you depends on your platform, display, and preference for visual fidelity or performance. The official information does not establish that one graphics mode or HDR setting makes sunsets less distracting for everyone, so there is no universal setting to recommend. See the Remastered update notes for the options relevant to your platform.
