The Helix Midnight Elite is a 15-inch premium hybrid aimed at side sleepers who want a medium mattress with substantial cushioning. Helix classifies it as medium, or 5–6/10; RTINGS describes its tested Queen as medium-plush and notably conforming. That difference matters: the mattress may suit sleepers who enjoy sinking into the surface, but its enveloping feel could frustrate anyone who prefers a flatter, firmer sleep surface. Helix’s product page displayed a Queen price of $2,998 on October 7, 2026, with $3,997.33 crossed out; that was a time-sensitive offer, not a dependable ongoing price. Check the current product details and checkout terms before deciding.
What the Helix Midnight Elite feels like
The clearest distinction in the available descriptions is between Helix’s firmness label and RTINGS’ assessment of the mattress it tested. Helix calls the Midnight Elite medium, rated 5–6 out of 10. RTINGS calls its tested Queen medium-plush and reports substantial body conformity. Firmness labels are subjective and vary between brands and reviewers, so those descriptions are not necessarily contradictory.
In practical terms, expect a cushioned, contouring feel rather than a consistently flat or buoyant surface. RTINGS found strong pressure relief for side sleeping, but cautions that average- or heavier-weight sleepers who dislike an enveloping mattress may prefer a firmer option. Those are review findings, not a guarantee of comfort for an individual; trying the mattress is the best way to judge personal fit.

RTINGS’ review, dated July 30, 2026, scored its tested Queen using its own methodology. These ratings are not population statistics or a prediction of any one sleeper’s experience.

| Category | RTINGS score |
|---|---|
| Overall | 8.7 |
| Side sleeping | 8.9 |
| Back sleeping | 7.4 |
| Stomach sleeping | 7.4 |
| Pressure relief | 8.9 |
| Cooling | 7.4 |
| Motion dissipation | 7.7 |
| Longevity | 7.0 |
The strongest fit in these results is side sleeping, consistent with Helix’s intended audience. Back- and stomach-sleeping scores are lower, so sleepers in those positions should pay particular attention to whether the mattress keeps them comfortably supported rather than letting them sink more than they like. The longevity rating is RTINGS’ score; it does not establish a lifespan or guarantee how long an individual mattress will last.
RTINGS rates cooling at 7.4. Helix says its GlacioTex Elite cover is heat-conductive and cool to the touch, and describes an optional CoolForce layer. Helix’s page also refers to a temperature comparison based on third-party testing with and without CoolForce, but the underlying report and method are not established here. Treat the company’s cooling statements as manufacturer claims, not proof that every sleeper will stay cool.

How it is built—and how it differs from the Midnight Luxe
Helix describes the Elite as a 15-inch mattress with a thicker quilted foam pillow top, two microcoil comfort layers, SupremeSupport 7.0 memory foam and a pocket-coil support system. The company lists the GlacioTex Elite cover and ErgoAlign contour layer as included features, and says the comfort layer can be swapped. These are Helix’s product descriptions, not independent verification of the materials or a measured durability advantage.
Helix identifies the Midnight Luxe as the closest in-brand comparison. The differences the company documents are construction and height, not proof that one model is universally more comfortable:

| Feature | Midnight Elite | Midnight Luxe |
|---|---|---|
| Height | 15 inches | 13.5 inches |
| Comfort system | Two microcoil comfort layers, in addition to the main pocket-coil support system | Helix’s comparison does not list the Elite’s two added microcoil comfort layers |
| Cover | GlacioTex Elite cover listed as standard | Helix’s comparison identifies this as an Elite feature |
| Memory foam | SupremeSupport 7.0 memory foam | Helix’s comparison identifies this as an Elite feature |
Helix’s Luxe-versus-Elite comparison supplies these construction distinctions. It does not establish that the Elite’s added layers will feel better to every sleeper; firmness preference, sinkage and fit matter more than a longer feature list.
Who should consider it—and who may want another feel
- Consider it if you sleep on your side and like cushioning: RTINGS’ side-sleeping and pressure-relief scores are its strongest category results, and its review describes a conforming feel.
- Be cautious if you dislike sinkage: the enveloping feel noted by RTINGS may not suit sleepers who prefer to rest more on top of a mattress.
- Compare firmer choices if you are an average- or heavier-weight sleeper who dislikes plush contouring: RTINGS specifically flags firmer alternatives for this preference.
- Assess your usual position before buying: RTINGS’ back- and stomach-sleeping ratings are both 7.4, below its side-sleeping score of 8.9.
- Check your budget against the live offer: the Queen price observed on Helix’s page was a dated snapshot, not a stable price reference.
Helix’s mattress selector also classifies the Midnight Elite as a medium option for side sleepers. That is useful for understanding the intended fit, but it does not replace considering your own preference for firmness and contouring.

Helix says the mattress needs a firm, flat support surface, with slats no more than 3.5 inches apart. It warns that wider spacing can contribute to sagging and void warranty coverage. Check the dimensions and support design of your bed frame or foundation, as well as the current warranty wording, before setup.
