On the published specifications and comparison-page benchmark figures, the MediaTek Helio P95 comes out ahead of the Snapdragon 665. It has two higher-clocked Cortex-A75 cores and the listed results are higher in the reported AnTuTu and Geekbench tests. That does not guarantee a faster phone in every task: the figures are not from matched handsets under controlled testing, and a phone’s cooling, software, and component choices matter.
How the Helio P95 and Snapdragon 665 compare
Both are eight-core mobile platforms, but their CPU and graphics configurations differ. MediaTek lists the Helio P95 with two Arm Cortex-A75 cores running up to 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores up to 2.0 GHz. Qualcomm lists the Snapdragon 665 as an eight-core, 64-bit Kryo 260 platform running up to 2 GHz.
| Specification | MediaTek Helio P95 | Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | 2x Cortex-A75 up to 2.2 GHz; 6x Cortex-A55 up to 2.0 GHz | 8-core Kryo 260, 64-bit, up to 2 GHz |
| GPU | IMG PowerVR GM 9446 | Qualcomm Adreno 610 |
| AI features | APU 2.0 | Qualcomm AI Engine; Hexagon 686 listed |
| Memory and storage | Dual-channel LPDDR4x, up to 8 GB at up to 1866 MHz; UFS 2.1 support | A directly comparable full memory and storage specification is not stated on the Qualcomm page consulted |
| Cellular | LTE Cat-12 downlink and Cat-13 uplink; listed support includes 4×4 MIMO, 3CA, 256QAM, and dual 4G VoLTE | X12 LTE modem designed for download speeds up to 600 Mbps |
| Other listed features | HyperEngine; camera ISP support up to 64 MP; maximum display resolution 2520×1080 | Spectra 165 ISP; Quick Charge 3.0 technology support; 802.11ac Wi-Fi |
These are chipset-level capabilities, not a guarantee that every phone maker enabled every feature. MediaTek emphasizes APU 2.0, camera processing, HyperEngine, and dual-4G functions on its Helio P95 product page. Qualcomm highlights the AI Engine, Spectra 165 ISP, X12 modem, and Quick Charge 3.0 support on its Snapdragon 665 product page.

Do not compare scores across benchmark generations as though they came from the same test. AnTuTu 9 and AnTuTu 10, or Geekbench 5 and Geekbench 6, use different versions; results can also vary with the handset, operating system, cooling, software build, and the way a site aggregates data. MediaTek’s product page also claims a 10% increase in APU benchmark performance versus its previous generation; that is MediaTek’s own generational claim, not a comparison with the Snapdragon 665.
What the specifications mean for everyday use
CPU and general responsiveness
The P95’s listed Cortex-A75 cores run at up to 2.2 GHz, while Qualcomm lists the Snapdragon 665’s Kryo 260 CPU at up to 2 GHz. That and the higher reported scores point toward an advantage for the P95 in these published comparisons. They do not establish how quickly a particular phone will open apps or keep several tasks responsive; memory, software, storage, and thermal limits also affect those experiences.
Graphics and gaming
The P95 uses an IMG PowerVR GM 9446 GPU, while the Snapdragon 665 uses an Adreno 610. GPU names alone do not establish which phone will deliver higher frame rates. Sustained gaming depends on the handset’s cooling, graphics settings, software, and how performance changes during a longer session; the cited sources do not provide matched-phone gaming tests.

MediaTek specifies support for dual-channel LPDDR4x memory up to 8 GB at up to 1866 MHz and UFS 2.1 storage. The Qualcomm product information consulted does not provide a directly comparable complete memory-and-storage specification, so the evidence does not support declaring a winner on those capabilities.

MediaTek lists LTE Cat-12 downlink and Cat-13 uplink features, including 4×4 MIMO and 3CA. Qualcomm describes the Snapdragon 665’s X12 LTE modem as designed for download speeds up to 600 Mbps. Those are platform capabilities, not promises of a particular operator’s speed or a phone’s reception; network bands, carrier support, and handset antenna design matter.
For imaging, MediaTek lists camera ISP support up to 64 MP, while Qualcomm identifies the Spectra 165 ISP. Maximum supported camera resolution does not determine photo quality: sensor choice, lenses, image processing, and the phone maker’s implementation all contribute.

What a chipset comparison cannot tell you
The product specifications and benchmark pages compare chipsets and reported results, not a pair of identified retail phones tested side by side. They therefore do not establish which chipset delivers better battery life, lower temperatures, stronger reception, better camera output, or higher sustained gaming performance in real use.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIf you are choosing between two specific phones, compare reviews or measurements for those exact models. The most useful evidence comes from the same benchmark version and test conditions, alongside sustained-load results, battery testing, camera samples, software support, and the network bands each model supports.
