The Dimensity 6400 Max leads the cited comparison’s CPU and overall benchmark scores, and its platform offers a key practical advantage: 5G. The Helio G99 is a 4G chipset with a lower listed peak Cortex-A76 clock. Both are listed with an octa-core CPU, 6 nm process, Mali-G57 MC2 graphics and LPDDR4X memory. Treat the benchmark figures as results from the named comparison, not guarantees for every phone.
Helio G99 vs Dimensity 6400 Max: specifications
The table combines MediaTek’s official specifications for the Helio G99 and standard Dimensity 6400 with the 6400 Max entries shown by 91mobiles. MediaTek’s cited Dimensity page is for the standard 6400, not the “Max” name, so it does not independently establish that the two labels have identical specifications.
| Specification | Helio G99 | Dimensity 6400 Max |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | 2× Cortex-A76 up to 2.2 GHz and 6× Cortex-A55 up to 2.0 GHz, according to MediaTek | 2× Cortex-A76 up to 2.5 GHz and 6× Cortex-A55 up to 2.0 GHz, according to 91mobiles |
| Manufacturing process | TSMC N6 / 6 nm class, according to MediaTek | 6 nm, according to 91mobiles |
| GPU | Mali-G57 MC2 | Mali-G57 MC2, according to 91mobiles |
| Memory and storage support | LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2, according to MediaTek | LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2 are specified for the standard Dimensity 6400 by MediaTek; 91mobiles lists LPDDR4X for the Max |
| Cellular network | 4G/LTE platform | 5G is documented for the standard Dimensity 6400 by MediaTek; 91mobiles presents the Max as the 5G-side option |
| Display and camera capabilities | Up to 120 Hz display and 108 MP main camera, per MediaTek | Up to 120 Hz Full HD+ AMOLED and up to 108 MP camera are listed for standard Dimensity 6400 by MediaTek, not confirmed there for the Max |
Sources: 91mobiles comparison, MediaTek Helio G99 specifications, and MediaTek Dimensity 6400 specifications. A chip’s listed display or camera capability does not mean every phone using it includes that feature. Likewise, a shared process-class label does not prove equal power use or sustained speed.
Benchmark comparison: published results

| Benchmark | Helio G99 | Dimensity 6400 Max |
|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu total | 380,698 | 448,625 |
| AnTuTu CPU | 103,329 | 142,456 |
| AnTuTu GPU | 86,021 | 70,692 |
| AnTuTu memory | 90,352 | 101,408 |
| AnTuTu UX | 100,996 | 134,069 |
| Geekbench single-core | 575 | 799 |
| Geekbench multi-core | 1,766 | 2,049 |
In those displayed results, the Dimensity 6400 Max is ahead in the total AnTuTu score and both Geekbench scores. The AnTuTu breakdown is not uniformly higher: the G99’s listed GPU component is higher. Since both entries use the same GPU name, that component difference is a reminder that a GPU label alone does not settle a benchmark outcome.
These scores are not a controlled same-phone test. Cooling, memory and storage configuration, software, power limits and the specific handset can affect results, so they should be read as the comparison page’s figures rather than a promise of performance in a particular device.

Keep standard Dimensity 6400 results separate
NanoReview compares the G99 with the standard Dimensity 6400—not the 6400 Max—and reports a different set of results. Its AnTuTu 11 scores are 554,590 for the G99 and 581,041 for Dimensity 6400, based on 313 and 11 samples respectively. Its Geekbench 6 results are 727 versus 803 single-core and 2,047 versus 2,047 multi-core, based on 82 and 8 samples. These figures use a different chip label, benchmark versions and sample sizes from the 91mobiles Max comparison, so they cannot be merged into one head-to-head table.

Which chipset is better for your needs?
Choose based on 5G requirements first
The network generation is the clearest practical dividing line: the Helio G99 is a 4G/LTE platform, while MediaTek documents 5G for the standard Dimensity 6400. MediaTek describes the standard 6400 modem as 3GPP Release 16 compliant; that official statement does not specifically name the 6400 Max. Before buying, verify that the exact phone variant supports the 5G bands used by your carrier and region.
For CPU-heavy tasks, the listed Max specifications point ahead
The 6400 Max entry shown by 91mobiles gives its two Cortex-A76 cores a peak clock of 2.5 GHz, compared with 2.2 GHz for the G99. Its Geekbench scores and total AnTuTu score are also higher in that comparison. This supports a result-specific advantage, not a guarantee that every phone with the Max will feel faster under all workloads.

For gaming, compare actual phones rather than GPU names
Both comparison entries list Mali-G57 MC2 graphics, but the cited material does not provide a controlled, same-device gaming test. Game performance and sustained speed also depend on handset cooling, software and power management. Use model-specific gaming tests if gaming is a deciding factor; do not infer a reliable winner from the shared GPU label or the unmatched NanoReview gaming averages.
How to assess the phone, not just the processor
The same chipset can be implemented differently across phones. Before choosing a handset, check the details that determine daily use:
- Network: Confirm the precise model and regional variant, supported LTE or 5G bands, and carrier compatibility.
- Memory and storage: Compare the phone’s actual RAM and storage capacity and type; platform support does not guarantee a manufacturer’s configuration.
- Cooling and sustained performance: Look for handset-level testing, especially if you play demanding games or run long workloads.
- Display, battery and camera hardware: Treat chipset maximums as capabilities, not promises about the phone’s panel, battery life, sensors or image quality.
- Software support, price and availability: Compare the specific phones sold in your market; these can matter more than a modest score difference.
As examples rather than a complete or globally current list, 91mobiles names the realme 15T and realme Narzo 90 with the Dimensity 6400 Max, and the Samsung Galaxy A07, F07, M07 4G, A18 4G and A08 4G with the Helio G99. Regional specifications and availability can change, so confirm the chipset on the exact product listing.
