The Helio G91 is the stronger overall platform on the listed graphics hardware and the available third-party benchmark comparisons. The Helio G35 has a higher advertised peak CPU clock—2.3 GHz versus 2 GHz—but its eight Cortex-A53 cores differ from the G91’s Cortex-A75 and Cortex-A55 core types, so clock speed alone does not show which chip is faster.
How the Helio G91 and G35 differ
Both are 4G smartphone platforms, and MediaTek lists Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and dual 4G VoLTE support for each. The clearest hardware contrasts are their CPU core types, GPUs, and supported display and memory ceilings.
| Specification | Helio G91 | Helio G35 |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | Eight cores using Cortex-A75 and Cortex-A55 types; up to 2 GHz. MediaTek does not state the core split on its G91 specifications page. | Eight Cortex-A53 cores; up to 2.3 GHz, according to MediaTek’s G35 specifications page. |
| GPU | Arm Mali-G52 MC2; up to 1 GHz. | IMG PowerVR GE8320; up to 680 MHz. |
| Memory | LPDDR4X; up to 8 GB; maximum listed frequency 1800 MHz. | LPDDR3 or LPDDR4X; up to 6 GB depending on memory type and configuration, as specified in the G35 product brief. |
| Storage | eMMC 5.1. | eMMC 5.1. |
| Display support | Up to 2520 × 1080 resolution and 90 Hz. | Up to 2400 × 1080 resolution; the product brief describes Full HD+ at 20:9. |
| Camera platform | MediaTek lists ISP configurations up to 64 MP or 16 MP + 16 MP and promotes support for 108 MP camera use. | MediaTek lists up to 25 MP or dual-camera configurations. The product brief specifies 25 MP at 30 fps or 13 MP + 8 MP at 30 fps. |
| Connectivity | 4G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and dual 4G VoLTE. | 4G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and dual 4G VoLTE. |
These are platform capabilities, not a guarantee of what a particular phone includes. A manufacturer may choose less memory, a lower-refresh-rate display, or different camera hardware than the chip supports.
What the specifications mean for choosing
CPU: core design matters more than peak clock alone
The G35’s listed maximum CPU clock is higher, but it uses eight Cortex-A53 cores. The G91 combines Cortex-A75 and Cortex-A55 core types. Since the listed clock figures do not describe the chips’ performance in a specific phone or workload, they are not enough to declare the G35 faster.

GPU: the G91 has the stronger listed graphics hardware
The G91’s Mali-G52 MC2 is listed at up to 1 GHz, while the G35’s PowerVR GE8320 is listed at up to 680 MHz. This makes the G91 the more promising choice on paper for graphics-heavy use, but the specifications alone do not establish game frame rates on any particular handset.
Memory and display: more headroom on the G91 platform
The G91 supports up to 8 GB of LPDDR4X and displays up to 90 Hz. The G35 product brief lists memory configurations up to 6 GB, depending on type and configuration, and a maximum resolution of 2400 × 1080. These ceilings matter only if the phone maker implements them.

Camera and connectivity: check the phone, not just the chip
MediaTek’s camera figures describe supported platform configurations; they do not establish the sensor, camera count, or recording options of a given phone. Both chips are listed as 4G platforms with Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and dual 4G VoLTE, so these specifications do not make either a 5G option.
Benchmark results: G91 leads in the cited comparisons, but scores vary
NanoReview’s comparison reports the following results. Its page lists 15 AnTuTu samples for the G91 and two for the G35; the Geekbench figures are Geekbench 6 scores.

| Benchmark and publisher | Helio G91 | Helio G35 |
|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu 11, NanoReview | 354,158 (15 samples) | 200,794 (2 samples) |
| Geekbench 6 single-core, NanoReview | 405 | 300 |
| Geekbench 6 multi-core, NanoReview | 1,407 | 843 |
A separate publisher reports different AnTuTu figures: 91mobiles gives 265,150 for the G91 and 203,078 for the G35. It describes the G35 figure as its highest recorded result on a device running that chip. For the G35, 91mobiles also reports Geekbench scores of 179 single-core and 977 multi-core; that page does not provide a corresponding G91 Geekbench result in the cited figures.
The gap between the publishers’ G91 AnTuTu results is substantial. These numbers should be read as separate publisher-reported results, not merged into a single controlled comparison. The available figures do not establish that both chips were tested in phones with the same cooling, firmware, memory, software, or benchmark conditions. NanoReview also cautions that gaming frame rates may vary with game version, operating system, and other factors.

Which chip should you choose?
- For the stronger specifications on paper: the G91 has the more capable listed GPU, a higher supported memory ceiling, and support for 90 Hz displays.
- If you are comparing peak CPU clock figures: the G35 is listed at 2.3 GHz against the G91’s 2 GHz, but that difference alone does not determine overall performance.
- When judging a phone purchase: compare the exact handset’s memory, display, camera configuration and independent device-level results. The processor name and its maximum supported features do not guarantee the phone uses those maximums.
Overall, the cited benchmark comparisons and graphics specifications favor the Helio G91. They do not prove a precise real-world speed advantage for every phone, or establish how a particular G91 handset will compare with a particular G35 handset.
