The Helio G91 is the more capable platform on paper: it has newer CPU cores, stronger graphics, support for higher-resolution and faster-refresh displays, and a more advanced camera and video pipeline. The Helio G25 is an older entry-level 4G chip. Published benchmark figures also favor the G91, but they come from different devices and test versions, so they are not a controlled head-to-head result.
How the Helio G25 and G91 differ
The most important distinction is not the clock speed alone. The G25 uses eight Cortex-A53 cores, while the G91 combines two Cortex-A75 performance cores with six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. The G91’s newer mixed-core design and Mali-G52 MC2 graphics give it a stronger platform foundation for demanding apps and games.
MediaTek’s specifications describe platform capabilities, not a promise that every phone using a chip will reach the same limits. Phone makers select the screen, memory configuration, cameras, cooling, and other components.

What benchmark results say—and what they do not
Third-party published scores favor the G91, but the available figures are device-dependent and do not establish how much faster one chip is under identical conditions.

91mobiles describes its scores as drawn from real-world testing of phones powered by the chips, and says its G25 AnTuTu score is the highest it recorded among tested G25 devices. The page does not identify the benchmark version beside the comparison figures. The G91 NanoReview page labels the AnTuTu 11 and Geekbench 6 versions; it reports fewer than three Geekbench samples and shows varying user-submitted AnTuTu 11 results. These datasets should not be combined into a single percentage or treated as results from a same-phone, same-version test.

Everyday speed and games
The G91’s newer CPU arrangement and more capable GPU make it the stronger choice on platform specifications, particularly for heavier workloads and graphics. A chip specification cannot tell you the frame rate a specific game will achieve: game settings, phone cooling, software, and the handset’s implementation all affect performance.

Screen and camera capabilities
The G91 can support a higher-resolution display and refresh rates up to 90 Hz, while the G25’s listed display ceiling is HD+ (1600 × 720). These are ceilings, not guarantees about a phone’s panel. Camera support has a similar caveat: a chip’s image-processing capability does not determine the sensor or camera quality a manufacturer installs.
4G connectivity and storage
Both are 4G platforms with Wi-Fi 5 and eMMC 5.1 storage in MediaTek’s published specifications. Neither is described by the official product pages as 5G-capable. MediaTek lists Bluetooth 5.0 for the G91; NanoReview lists a different Bluetooth version, so the official specification is the appropriate manufacturer-supported figure to use here.

Check the actual handset
Before choosing a phone, compare its RAM and storage configuration, screen, battery, software support, thermal design, price, and regional network bands. Examples of phones identified with the G91 include the Xiaomi Redmi 13 4G, Tecno Spark 30, and Poco M6 4G; G25 examples include the Redmi 9A, Redmi 10A, Redmi 9i, and Nokia G10. Bottom line
The Helio G91 is the better-equipped chip by CPU design, graphics, display support, and video capabilities. The G25 is a more basic 4G platform. Benchmark listings reinforce that overall direction, but they are snapshots from different device samples and methods—not a controlled comparison. For a purchase, evaluate the complete phone rather than assuming every G91 handset will outperform every G25 handset in the same way.
