If you need 5G, the Dimensity 6080 is the clear choice: MediaTek lists it as a 5G platform, while the Helio G100 is an LTE-only chipset. For everyday speed and graphics, the gap is less decisive. Both have the same basic CPU core layout and Mali-G57 MC2 graphics, and pooled benchmark scores are close rather than a reliable prediction of which phone will feel faster.
Specifications: what differs between the chipsets?
The Helio G100 and Dimensity 6080 share several platform features, but their cellular connectivity and maximum CPU clock differ. The table summarizes MediaTek’s published specifications; a phone maker’s implementation determines the actual device experience.
| Specification | Helio G100 | Dimensity 6080 | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| CPU | 2× Cortex-A76 up to 2.2GHz; 6× Cortex-A55 up to 2.0GHz | 2× Cortex-A76 up to 2.4GHz; 6× Cortex-A55 up to 2.0GHz | Same core counts; the Dimensity 6080 has a higher listed maximum clock for its two performance cores. |
| Manufacturing process | TSMC 6nm (N6) | TSMC N6 (6nm class) | Both are in the same broad process class. This alone does not establish equal battery life. |
| GPU | Arm Mali-G57 MC2 | Arm Mali-G57 MC2 | They share the same GPU configuration in MediaTek’s specifications. |
| Memory | LPDDR4X, maximum frequency listed as 4266Mbps | LPDDR4x, maximum frequency listed as 2133MHz | The pages use different unit conventions, so the raw figures should not be compared directly. |
| Storage | UFS 2.2 | 2-lane UFS 2.2 | Real storage speed also depends on the handset’s implementation. |
| Cellular | Cat-13 LTE; 5G is not listed | Multimode 5G and LTE; peak download listed as 2.77Gbps | The most consequential platform difference, subject to handset band support and carrier coverage. |
| Camera support ceiling | Up to 200MP; dual 16MP also listed | Up to 108MP; dual 16MP also listed | These are platform limits, not guarantees of photo quality. |
| Display support ceiling | Up to 2520×1080 at 120Hz | Up to 2520×1080 at 120Hz | Panel quality and refresh-rate behavior depend on the phone. |

Connectivity: choose the Dimensity 6080 if you need 5G
MediaTek describes the Helio G100 as a Cat-13 LTE platform and does not list 5G support. The Dimensity 6080 supports multimode 5G and LTE, with a listed peak download speed of 2.77Gbps. That makes the Dimensity the relevant option if 5G is a requirement—but the chipset alone does not guarantee that a particular phone works on your network.

Before buying, check the exact handset variant’s supported bands against your carrier’s bands in your country. Coverage, carrier support, and the phone’s regional configuration all matter.
CPU and GPU: similar foundations, no guaranteed speed winner
Both chipsets use two Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores, with the A55 cores listed up to 2.0GHz. The Dimensity 6080’s A76 cores reach a listed maximum of 2.4GHz, compared with 2.2GHz on the G100. That specification gives the Dimensity a higher peak clock on its performance cores, but it does not settle how two complete phones compare.

Both official specification pages list Arm Mali-G57 MC2 graphics. A third-party comparison reports a higher GPU frequency for the Dimensity 6080, but that figure does not establish a consistent gaming advantage across different phones. Cooling, software, power settings, and the rest of each device influence performance, particularly during sustained gaming.
Benchmarks: close pooled results, not a controlled head-to-head
NanoReview’s comparison page shows mixed results across its listed tests. The values below are its pooled figures, accessed in 2026—not results from a controlled test of matched phones. NanoReview reports different submission counts for the chips, and the comparison does not provide enough matched-device methodology to isolate chipset performance. Phone configuration, cooling, software, and the mix of submitted devices can all affect the scores.

NanoReview lists 133 AnTuTu submissions for the G100 and 24 for the Dimensity 6080; for Geekbench CPU tests, it lists 26 and 11, respectively. Its PCMark comparison is based on 14 G100 phone models and five Dimensity 6080 phone models. The smaller displayed sample for 3DMark also warrants caution. These figures suggest close overall performance, not a universal ranking. Source: NanoReview’s Helio G100 vs Dimensity 6080 comparison.
Camera, screen, and battery: compare the actual phones
The G100’s higher listed camera ceiling—up to 200MP versus 108MP for the Dimensity 6080—does not mean a G100 phone will take better photos. Sensor choice, stabilization, image processing, and camera software matter more to the result than the maximum supported megapixel count alone.

- Unlocked: Compatible with all major U.S. carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and other major carriers.
- Super-bright 6.8" display + Bass Boost. Enjoy boundless entertainment on a massive, 120Hz display and stereo speakers with 1.7x more powerful bass***.

- 50MP** camera system with OIS. Capture sharper low-light photos and smoother videos with an unshakable camera system featuring Optical Image Stabilization.
- Stylish yet durable design. Enjoy the premium look and feel of vegan leather with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and underwater protection.
Both platforms list support for displays up to 2520×1080 at 120Hz. That does not tell you which phone has the brighter or better-looking panel, whether it runs at 120Hz consistently, or how its refresh-rate policy affects battery use. Battery capacity, modem use, software, and the handset’s power management also shape battery life; chipset specifications and pooled benchmarks do not establish real-world endurance.
MediaTek notes that partners can tailor the Helio G100 platform to their device or market needs. For that reason, treat a chipset name as one part of a phone’s specification, not as a complete description of how the phone performs.

How to choose between phones using these chips
- Start with 5G and network compatibility. If 5G is essential, consider a Dimensity 6080 phone, then verify its exact regional variant and carrier bands. The G100 is LTE-only according to MediaTek’s published page.
- Compare matching configurations and local prices. Check RAM and storage tiers, warranty, and price in the same market; chipset benchmark scores do not account for these differences.
- Look for tests of the exact phone. For gaming or other sustained workloads, seek device-specific testing for heat and performance over time rather than relying on pooled chipset scores.
- Judge the camera by its implementation. Compare the sensors, stabilization, image processing, and sample photos for the actual models.
- Check the screen and battery specification. Compare panel characteristics, battery capacity, refresh-rate behavior, and device-specific battery testing.
Example phones—and why model details matter
91mobiles lists the Infinix Hot 50 Pro and Tecno Camon 30S Pro among phones associated with the Helio G100. Its Dimensity 6080 examples include the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 and POCO X6 Neo. These are examples, not a complete or current stock list, and the listing has an India-oriented context. Regional variants may differ, so confirm the chipset and full specifications of the exact model being sold. Source: 91mobiles’ Helio G100 phone list and 91mobiles’ Dimensity 6080 phone list.
