A phone-camera partnership badge is not proof that a camera company built the entire lens, sensor, or module. In the documented examples, ZEISS contributes the clearest named optical hardware and coating work; Hasselblad co-develops OPPO’s imaging system and signature modes; Leica supplies imaging technology to Xiaomi while also standing behind its separate Leitz Phone line; and ARRI brings cinematic color science and workflow tools to HONOR. The differences matter more than the logos when you are choosing a phone.
What a partnership badge really means
Smartphone brands negotiate different scopes of work with camera companies. A partner may help design optics, specify anti-reflective coatings, tune color and portraits, create shooting modes, develop a color-management workflow, or lend a recognizable visual style. None of those descriptions automatically means the partner manufactured every camera component.
The announcements also cover different products and dates. OPPO describes four years of work with Hasselblad on Find-series phones. ZEISS documents mobile work with vivo and Sony. Leica’s March 2025 announcement concerns the Xiaomi 15 series, while Leica’s own Leitz Phone 3 is a separate product. ARRI and HONOR announced their strategic technical collaboration on 1 March 2026, with HONOR’s Robot Phone identified as the first commercial outcome.
Hasselblad and OPPO: imaging co-development and distinctive modes
What OPPO says Hasselblad does
OPPO says its teams and Hasselblad have worked together across four years of Find-series phones and are co-developing a next-generation imaging system. The description centers on joint imaging development rather than Hasselblad manufacturing every lens or sensor.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
What you can see in the phone
The most visible example is Hasselblad XPAN Mode. It recreates the classic 65:24 wide aspect ratio associated with the XPAN camera, giving compatible Find phones an unusually panoramic composition option. The partnership is therefore experienced through color and imaging-system tuning, plus creative modes, rather than through a simple “Hasselblad lens” specification.
What the badge does not establish
OPPO’s partnership announcement does not establish that Hasselblad built the phone’s complete camera module, supplied its sensor, or guarantees a particular level of image quality in every scene. Those questions require the specifications and testing for the exact Find model.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
ZEISS and vivo or Sony: the most explicit optics-and-coating role
Named optical contributions
ZEISS describes the first joint vivo product as an X-series smartphone with ZEISS Optics, ZEISS T* anti-reflective coating and ZEISS portrait styles. It also describes a joint imaging lab and continuing research and development that applies more than 130 years of ZEISS imaging experience to mobile technology.

For Sony, ZEISS states that the Xperia 1 II features ZEISS optics with T* anti-reflective coating. The stated purpose of the coating is to reduce reflections and improve contrast. Among these four partnerships, this is the clearest public documentation of a partner contributing named optical hardware and a lens-surface treatment, alongside software and R&D.

How to interpret “ZEISS optics”
The phrase identifies an optics and coating collaboration for the specified phone; it is not a promise that every camera on every phone using the logo has identical glass, nor that the phone will outperform all rivals. Check the exact model’s camera specifications and independent tests before drawing that conclusion.
Leica and Xiaomi: technology partnership, separate Leitz Phone hardware
What the Xiaomi relationship covers
Leica’s March 2025 release says its technology partnership with Xiaomi continues for the Xiaomi 15 series. Leica frames the work as a shared effort to elevate smartphone photography. The announcement does not say that Leica manufactures Xiaomi’s complete camera module, so the logo should be read as evidence of partnered imaging technology and development, not proof of an all-Leica camera assembly.

What is different about the Leitz Phone 3
Leica’s own Leitz Phone 3 is a separate case. Its product release specifies a 47.2-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 1-inch CMOS sensor, a variable aperture and Leica Leitz Looks. Those are concrete hardware and software characteristics of a Leica-branded phone designed and sold within Leica’s ecosystem; they should not be transferred automatically to a Xiaomi model.

When comparing a Xiaomi phone with a Leitz Phone, separate the partnership model from the product model. Xiaomi buyers are evaluating a phone maker’s hardware with Leica technology and looks. Leitz Phone buyers are evaluating Leica’s own design choices and the particular 1-inch camera system named for that device.

ARRI and HONOR: cinema image science adapted for a phone
What changed in 2026
ARRI and HONOR announced a strategic technical collaboration on 1 March 2026. ARRI says its image-science principles are being translated for mobile constraints, not copied as cinema hardware. HONOR’s Robot Phone announcement calls that device the first commercial outcome.
The named tools
The Robot Phone announcement identifies ARRI LogC3, ARRI Wide Gamut 3 and ARRI Looks. Together, those names point to a cinematic capture and color-management workflow: LogC3 and Wide Gamut 3 are intended for handling image data and color, while ARRI Looks provide defined rendering choices. They describe an imaging pipeline rather than an ARRI-made smartphone lens or sensor.
The intended visual result
ARRI vice president Dr. Benedikt von Lindeiner described the goal as “a true cinematic aesthetic to smartphone imaging — natural color, gentle highlight roll-off, and a sense of depth that feels authentic to how stories are meant to be seen.” ARRI also says it has received 20 Scientific and Technical Awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Those credentials explain the partnership’s emphasis on color science and workflow, but they do not substitute for testing the finished phone.

How to use the badge when choosing a phone
- Identify the exact model and market. Partnership announcements do not establish universal retail availability. Confirm the model name, region and release date before relying on a feature.
- Read the camera specification separately. Check sensor size, resolution, aperture, focal lengths, stabilization and recording modes; the partner name is not a substitute for those details.
- Match the contribution to your priority. Look to ZEISS documentation when optics and coating are your main interest, Hasselblad for OPPO’s co-developed rendering and XPAN mode, Leica for its Xiaomi imaging collaboration or the distinct Leitz Phone 3 hardware, and ARRI for cinematic color workflow.
- Test the phone’s actual output. Portrait styles, panoramic modes, LogC3 and other looks affect how images are captured or rendered, but the phone’s sensor, processing and controls determine whether the result suits your use.
Can one partnership be called the overall winner?
No. The available announcements describe different kinds of contribution, and there is no single independent standardized test covering all four current phone examples. ZEISS has the strongest explicitly documented optics-and-coating role; Hasselblad is clearest about co-developed imaging and a signature format; Leica spans both a Xiaomi technology partnership and its own phone hardware; ARRI is focused on cinematic image science and color management. Those are different strengths, not directly interchangeable scores.
Before buying, verify the exact phone, region and software features. A partnership logo is useful context, but the complete camera specification and independent samples remain the deciding evidence.
