Samsung has not confirmed One UI 10 in the official materials reviewed as of October 12, 2026. The latest version announcement in those sources is One UI 9, so claims that One UI 10 will bring a major change remain unverified—not a confirmed Samsung feature or release plan.
What Samsung has officially announced
Samsung’s September 16, 2026 announcement said One UI 9 expansion had begun, starting with the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. Samsung said One UI 9 had debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8 and Z Flip8, with its rollout expected to expand gradually. The company described One UI 9 as bringing “an easier, more seamless mobile experience across form factors, as well as enhanced Galaxy AI that is richer, more personal and more helpful.” That statement describes One UI 9, not One UI 10. Samsung had also announced that One UI 8.5 rollout would begin in Korea on May 6, 2026, with other regions to follow. Its announcement cautioned that timing and availability could vary by market and model. Samsung Global Newsroom: One UI 8.5 rollout
Samsung’s 2026 first-quarter interim report lists Android 16 and One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S26 platform. That is a snapshot of the product platform, not a roadmap for One UI 10. Samsung Electronics 2026 first-quarter interim report

What a “major change” would need to establish
There are no confirmed One UI 10 features or specifications to compare yet. The phrase “major change” could refer to several different things, and Samsung has not established any of them for One UI 10 in the official sources cited here.
- Interface: No One UI 10 visual redesign or navigation change is confirmed.
- Underlying platform: No Android base or platform changes for One UI 10 are established.
- Galaxy AI: Samsung’s One UI 9 description is not evidence of which AI functions, if any, One UI 10 will add.
- Devices and regions: No One UI 10 eligibility list or regional rollout details are confirmed.
- Timing: Samsung has not announced a One UI 10 release schedule in the sources reviewed.
Until Samsung publishes release or beta material, it is not possible to tell whether One UI 10 will be a major shift, a smaller refinement, or some combination. The One UI 8.5 and One UI 9 announcements do not predict what comes next.

How to separate a leak from a confirmed update
A January 2026 Android Central report attributed claims about a One UI 8.5 kernel change and perceived performance improvements to tipsters. It concerns an earlier version and does not confirm a One UI 10 change. A reported software build, by itself, would not establish the scope or user-visible impact of a future release. If a claim comes from a leak, treat it as attributed speculation until Samsung confirms it; do not infer a broad redesign or performance improvement from a version label or rumored build alone.

How to check whether your Galaxy phone has an update
Rollouts do not necessarily reach every Galaxy model or region at the same time. Samsung says availability can vary by market and model, and its device update history warns that changes may also vary by country and network operator.
- Find your exact phone model and check its Samsung update history. Samsung’s page for model SM-S921B is one model-specific example; it is not a universal status page: Samsung Notify Update for SM-S921B.
- Compare the software version and release date on that page with the update information on your own device.
- Use the record for your model, country and operator where available rather than assuming that a rollout reported for another Galaxy phone applies to yours.
What to watch for next
A Samsung announcement or official beta notice would be the point at which One UI 10’s features, compatible devices, regions and timing can be assessed. Until then, One UI 9 is the latest version confirmed in the official sources cited here, and a major One UI 10 change remains a possibility—not an announced fact.
