Hanno: A Magical Tale is an upcoming Windows action-adventure from One Way Eleven in which an orphaned teenager and a wounded baby elephant must survive a dangerous world together. Steam has not announced a release date or price, so the game is not yet available to play.

Hanno: A Magical Tale follows Vimal, an orphaned teenager who discovers Hanno, an unusual baby elephant, alone and injured in a forest. The encounter sets up the game’s central mystery: Vimal must learn what makes Hanno different while protecting him from hostile creatures moving through the land of Ashar.
One Way Eleven describes the project as a visually captivating action-adventure combining fluid combat, story-driven exploration and light puzzle-solving. Its defining idea is that Vimal and Hanno are a team rather than a hero accompanied by a decorative pet. The store description sums up the relationship as: “You protect him. He protects you.”
How Vimal and Hanno’s magic works

A companion who affects play
Players will sometimes control Hanno directly. The exact division of playable sequences has not been detailed, but the announcement makes clear that Hanno is part of the game’s interaction model. Progress therefore appears designed around coordinating two characters with a shared magical connection.
Combat and puzzles
Combat is built around hostile creatures, while puzzles use the same magical manipulation that helps Vimal move through Ashar. The available description does not publish a full combat system, difficulty model or list of abilities, so those details remain to be confirmed closer to launch.

Exploring Ashar
Ashar is a fictional world shaped by lush tropical regions, ancient forests and sacred temples. Steam says the setting draws inspiration from South and Southeast Asia and from the developers’ island environment, including forests and levadas. Temples contain secrets and collectibles, giving exploration a purpose beyond reaching the next fight.
The story takes place while a hostile force is moving through Ashar. The public store information does not identify that force or explain the larger history of the region, but the combination of temples, hidden items and Vimal’s investigation points to a journey that mixes personal discovery with a wider threat.

Enemies, choices and progression
IndieBunny’s March 6, 2026 overview provides additional, secondary details about the planned systems. It names the enemies Asuras and reports that they have distinct attack patterns and vulnerabilities. The same coverage says players may be able to “seize or save” foes and develop Vimal through two skill paths.
IndieBunny also reports that items found across Ashar can customize Hanno. These progression and customization details come from that outlet’s overview rather than a complete system specification from the developer, so they should be treated as features reported for the game and subject to change before release.

Hanno: A Magical Tale is listed on Steam for Windows PC. Steam currently marks both the release date and price as “to be announced.” There is no announced console version, physical edition, soundtrack, artbook or merchandise in the available information.
