Its 700 mm width may suit kitchens with limited space, but the figures are manufacturer specifications, not a guarantee of household energy use or independent proof of cooling performance.

These figures describe the model as documented in Haier Australia’s product guide. A rated annual figure is a labelled comparison point; your actual electricity use and cost will depend on operating conditions and your electricity tariff.
How much space does the HRF420BEC provide?
Haier lists 433L of total capacity, divided into a 321L refrigerator compartment and a 112L freezer. When comparing it with another appliance, check that the capacities use the same basis and look at the fridge and freezer split as well as the headline total. A larger total figure does not necessarily mean more room in the compartment you use most.
How much electricity does the HRF420BEC use?
Haier’s guide dated 17 April 2026 lists an 8-star rating and 155 kWh of annual consumption. The guide also says the model uses 59.9% less energy than a comparison 3.5-star refrigerator rated at 387 kWh annually, with the comparison based on energy-label tests. That is Haier’s stated comparison, not a measurement of what every household will save.

The guide describes the model as Australia’s “first and only” refrigerator with an 8-star energy rating, qualified as of 4 December 2023. That dated manufacturer statement should not be read as confirmation of the current market-wide range.
What features does it have?
- Frost-free freezer: Haier lists the freezer as frost free.
- Separate controls: The fridge and freezer have separate temperature controls.
- Rapid cooling functions: Super Freeze and Super Cooling are listed features.
- Storage and airflow: The guide lists a Multi-Zone Air system, three adjustable glass shelves and one Humidity Fresh Zone.
- Everyday details: Listed features also include an inverter-controlled compressor, reversible door, door alarm, recessed handle, LED lighting and fingerprint-resistant finish.
- Refrigerant: Haier lists R600a.
These are specification claims; they do not establish how evenly temperatures are maintained or how well food is kept fresh in independent testing.

CHOICE identifies the HRF420BEC as a medium-sized, 381–450L bottom-freezer refrigerator and lists 2024 as its test year. Its public page includes the model’s headline capacity, energy and warranty details, but the Expert Rating, food-freshness and temperature scores, pros, cons and recommendation are restricted to members. The publicly available information therefore does not support a conclusion that independent testing found the refrigerator performs well or poorly.

Will it fit your kitchen and delivery route?
The listed cabinet dimensions are 1725 mm high, 700 mm wide and 675 mm deep. Those are external appliance dimensions, not the full space requirement. Haier’s quick guide does not establish ventilation clearances, clearance with the door open or delivery-path requirements. Check the current installation manual and confirm the retailer’s delivery conditions before ordering.

The available retailer listing confirms the model identity and links to a user manual, but does not establish current price, stock or delivery availability; verify those details with the seller.
For a useful comparison with another refrigerator, compare total, fridge and freezer volume; external dimensions and installation clearances; labelled annual energy use and star rating; shelf and drawer layout; door swing; delivery access; warranty terms; price; and independently measured temperature performance.
