The Haier HRF340BW2 is a white, right-hinge, bottom-freezer refrigerator with a manual twist ice maker and frost-free freezer. What kind of refrigerator is the HRF340BW2?
It is a bottom-freezer model, 595 mm wide and about 1700 mm high. The Haier quick guide describes a white finish and right-hand hinge, plus LED lighting, a crisper bin, multidirectional airflow, spill-proof safety-glass shelves and a recessed handle. The freezer is frost-free, and the included ice maker is operated manually by twisting it; it is not an automatic ice dispenser. Haier’s product documentation is the basis for these feature and dimension details.
CHOICE places the model in its small 300–380 L, freezer-on-bottom category. Its public listing shows the test year as 2020 and marks availability as discontinued. Discontinued status on that page does not confirm that every retailer or market has no remaining stock, so check local availability and verify the exact model code if you find a listing.

The capacity figures differ across Haier’s documents, so they should not be treated as interchangeable. The 2023 quick reference guide lists 303 L usable volume: 227 L for the refrigerator and 76 L for the freezer. Haier’s undated user manual instead reports 342 L gross volume and 308 L total storage volume, split into a 253 L fresh-food compartment and a 55 L freezer compartment. The documents do not explain the difference in compartment figures; use the figure and measurement label from the specific document rather than combining them.

Will it fit a 60 cm kitchen space?
Its published cabinet dimensions are close to a 60 cm width, but that alone does not show that it will fit a particular opening. Haier’s 2023 quick guide gives dimensions of 1702 mm high × 595 mm wide × 642 mm deep. The undated user manual lists 642 × 595 × 1700 mm in depth × width × height order. These are product dimensions, not a guarantee of the required installation cavity.
CHOICE gives a recommended installation envelope of 176 cm high × 70 cm wide × 70 cm deep. Before buying, compare that envelope with the actual space and check the current installation instructions for ventilation and clearance requirements. Also measure the route into the kitchen—including doorways and turns—rather than checking only the final location.

What are its energy and warranty figures?
Haier’s 2023 quick reference guide states an energy rating of 2.5 stars and claimed annual consumption of 421 kWh. CHOICE displays the same energy figures. Treat 421 kWh per year as a published label figure, not a prediction of a household’s actual consumption or electricity bill: real costs depend on usage and the electricity tariff. The quick guide lists a two-year parts-and-labour warranty, and CHOICE also lists a two-year warranty.

How should you clean and service it safely?
Haier’s manual instructs users to unplug the refrigerator and clean it with a soft cloth and dishwashing liquid; it warns against splashing water directly onto the appliance. The manual also says LED replacement should be handled by the manufacturer or an authorized service agent.
The manual identifies the refrigerant as flammable isobutane (R600a) and warns against damaging the refrigerant circuit. It also cautions that servicing involving removal of covers is hazardous for anyone other than an authorized service person. Follow the manual’s safety instructions and use authorized service for work that requires opening the appliance.

Based on its listed specifications, it may suit someone seeking a bottom-freezer layout, frost-free freezer and a manual ice maker in a cabinet about 595 mm wide. Check the actual usable capacity split against your storage needs, and confirm installation clearances rather than assuming a 60 cm opening is enough. Because CHOICE marks it discontinued, verify current local stock and warranty coverage before purchasing; the public review record does not provide enough performance data to recommend it on test results alone.
