The Haier HRF130UW2 is a 129L, full-fridge bar refrigerator for extra fresh-food and drink storage—not a fridge-freezer. Haier publishes a 4.5-star energy rating and 100 kWh annual energy use for the Australian model. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. This review covers the white HRF130UW2 sold in Australia and New Zealand; the HRF130UW and black HRF130UG2 are different models or variants.
What the HRF130UW2 is designed to do
With 129L of capacity, the HRF130UW2 is intended as a secondary refrigerator for drinks, fresh food or overflow storage. It has no freezer compartment, so it is not a substitute for a fridge-freezer if you need frozen-food storage.
Haier New Zealand describes space for 1.5L and 2.25L bottles. Haier Australia’s guide refers to 1.25L and 2L bottles, so check the product information for the market where you are buying rather than assuming one bottle-size description applies everywhere. Interior layout and everyday features
Haier lists two adjustable glass shelves, three full-width door shelves and a crisper bin. The refrigerator also has LED lighting and Haier’s H-DEO deodoriser. The adjustable shelves offer some flexibility for taller items, while the door shelves provide separate storage for bottles and smaller containers.

Temperature adjustment is manual, and defrosting is manual as well. The door is reversible, which can help when the room layout requires it, but confirm the current product instructions for the reversal procedure and whether you are comfortable carrying it out.
Dimensions and installation clearance
Haier Australia publishes external dimensions of 850 mm high × 545 mm wide × 566 mm deep. Those measurements describe the appliance, not the space needed to install it. Haier’s specification guide gives cavity figures of 900 mm high × 595 mm wide × 616 mm minimum deep, but expressly says the specification guide is not installation guidance. Use the model-specific installation information supplied with the refrigerator or available from Haier before planning a fitted space. - Measure the opening, including any trim or nearby cabinets that could restrict access.
- Allow for ventilation and enough space for the door to swing open; a reversible hinge does not remove the need for clearance.
- Check the instructions for the required clearances and any additional installation conditions for your exact unit.
Energy use and noise: what the published figures mean
For Australia, Haier publishes an annual energy-use figure of 100 kWh and a 4.5-star rating. These are manufacturer-listed figures; check the energy label attached to the specific refrigerator you are considering, since labels and specifications can change. The label is the relevant point of reference for the exact unit and market.

Haier also lists noise emissions of 38 dBA. This is a published specification, not a measurement made in a home or an independent assessment of perceived noise. Haier Australia product guide.

Independent testing and evidence limits
CHOICE’s public listing identifies a 2026 test year for the HRF130UW2, but its expert rating and detailed performance scores are available only to members. The listing therefore does not establish how well the refrigerator holds temperature or how it performs against alternatives. No independent performance ranking can be supported from the publicly visible information. CHOICE product and review listing.
The practical distinction is that capacity, dimensions, features, energy use and noise figures above are published specifications, not results from hands-on testing. For a purchase decision where temperature stability or other independently measured performance is a priority, seek accessible test results for this exact model before relying on a ranking.

Prices are regional snapshots, not a direct comparison
Haier New Zealand listed an RRP of NZ$549 on 7 October 2026. CHOICE’s Australian listing showed A$329 on the same date. These are separate regional snapshots from different sources, not like-for-like prices or a reliable indication of current retail offers. Check local sellers for the current price and confirm the exact model suffix and finish.

This model is most relevant if you want a compact, full-fridge appliance for additional chilled storage and have room for its dimensions plus installation clearances. Its manual temperature control and defrosting are worth factoring into the decision, as is the absence of a freezer compartment.

Before buying, compare the exact unit’s capacity and shelf layout, external dimensions and installation requirements, local energy label, defrost method, door-swing needs, and any independent performance evidence available for that exact model. Do not assume specifications for the HRF130UW or HRF130UG2 apply to the white HRF130UW2.
