GuliKit says its Dock for Switch 2 works with both Switch 2 and the original Switch, giving owners of both consoles a single dock option to pack. It is designed for TV play and desktop charging, but the available product information does not establish how small it is, what accessories come in the box, or how it performs on the road. What the GuliKit dock offers for travel
The travel-use case is straightforward: instead of relying on a Nintendo Switch 2 dock at your destination, you can bring a compatible third-party dock and connect the console to a television. GuliKit calls its model portable and says it works with both Switch 2 and Switch 1. That cross-generation compatibility could be useful if you travel with either console, though it is a manufacturer claim rather than an independently verified result.

Nintendo says Switch 2 TV mode requires a Switch 2-compatible dock; the original Nintendo Switch dock is not compatible. Nintendo’s official connection setup specifies the Switch 2 AC adapter, model NGN-01, and an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable. Nintendo also says the original Switch AC adapter cannot power Switch 2 while docked. Those are Nintendo’s instructions for its official setup; the available product details do not specify what GuliKit includes or recommends for its dock.

GuliKit lists HDMI output at 4K/60 Hz, along with Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and static and dynamic HDR. Its June 17, 2026, launch announcement additionally claims support for 2K/120 Hz and 1080p/240 Hz. These are GuliKit’s advertised specifications, not independent measurements. Nintendo’s own Switch 2 specifications state docked output up to 3840×2160 at 60 fps, with 120 fps supported at 1920×1080 or 2560×1440, HDR10, and VRR up to 120 Hz. The console’s specifications do not independently confirm that this third-party dock delivers every advertised mode in every setup.
What to check before taking it on a trip
- Power: Confirm the adapter required for GuliKit’s dock in its manual or packaging. Nintendo specifies its NGN-01 adapter for the official Switch 2 dock and says the original Switch adapter cannot power Switch 2 while docked; the available GuliKit details do not state its adapter requirements.
- Video cable: Check whether an HDMI cable is supplied or must be packed separately. Nintendo’s official setup calls for an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable; the available GuliKit information does not establish what is included.
- Destination display: Match the TV or monitor’s inputs and supported resolution and refresh rate to the output you want. GuliKit’s listed 4K/60 Hz and higher-refresh modes are claims from the manufacturer.
- Portability: Verify dimensions and weight against your own packing needs. GuliKit describes the dock as portable, but the available product details provide no measurements.
How its cooling and firmware claims should be read
GuliKit describes an enhanced cooling design with convection vents and the console placed exposed rather than enclosed. It also lists firmware updates for continued compatibility with new system versions. These are product features as described by the manufacturer; no independent cooling measurements or travel-durability testing are established here. Firmware support is a listed feature, not a guarantee that every future console update will work without an update or issue.

The clearest fit is someone who wants a Switch 2-compatible dock for TV play away from home and values GuliKit’s stated compatibility with the original Switch as well. If you are choosing a travel dock, compare the precise console compatibility, required power supply and cables, supported video modes, ports, and physical size—not just the word “portable.” Current price, stock, and the contents of the box are not established here, so verify those details with the seller and the product manual.
