GTA 6 is reportedly adding a heavy-metal radio station featuring Black Sabbath and hosted by Slayer members Tom Araya and Kerry King. That would be a distinctive new station lineup and hosting combination—not the first heavy-metal radio station in Grand Theft Auto: GTA IV already had Liberty City Hardcore.
What is the newly reported GTA 6 feature?
A report published on October 8, 2026, says Grand Theft Auto VI will include a heavy-metal station featuring Black Sabbath, with Tom Araya and Kerry King of Slayer as hosts. Rockstar’s official GTA VI page lists a Newswire item titled “The Music of Grand Theft Auto VI: In-Game Radio Stations,” and offers an in-game radio and music preview. The station details here are attributed to the report; the Newswire article body was not available to verify independently.
Rockstar’s page presents GTA VI in Vice City, USA. Its Newswire listing and preview confirm that radio and music are part of the game’s presentation, but the available official page does not establish the full station lineup or further programming details.
Is it the first heavy-metal station in the series?
No. The report itself notes that GTA IV featured Liberty City Hardcore, a heavy-metal radio station. So the broad claim that no earlier Grand Theft Auto game had metal on the radio is inaccurate.
#1 Best Overall
The narrower distinction supported by the report is GTA VI’s reported combination of Black Sabbath and Slayer members Araya and King as hosts. The available sources do not establish that this is the first station of its exact format across both Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead games, so that wider franchise claim should not be treated as verified.
What has Rockstar confirmed about GTA VI?

What should players take away?
The reported station sounds notable for its artists and hosts, but it is not the first heavy-metal radio station in Grand Theft Auto. GTA IV’s Liberty City Hardcore predates it. Rockstar’s official page confirms that GTA VI has radio and music content, while the specific station details currently rest on the October 8 report.
