A new batch of Grand Theft Auto VI footage has reportedly circulated online, but available reporting does not establish that Rockstar authenticated it or explain how it was obtained. The reports raise legitimate questions about containing unauthorized disclosures and spoilers; they do not, by themselves, prove a new breach of Rockstar’s systems.

What is reported about the latest GTA 6 footage?

GamesRadar reported that community member and dataminer TexFunz2 said the Cyberleek account had released 367 MB of footage, described as 25 minutes long. The report characterized the material as including new footage and cutscenes, and described clips showing cutscenes, races and first-person gameplay. These are attributed claims about material circulating online, not figures or content Rockstar has officially verified. GamesRadar’s report does not explain how the files were acquired.

Is the latest GTA 6 leak confirmed as real?

The cited report does not establish that Rockstar authenticated this newest batch. That matters because footage shared under a leaker’s name is not automatically proof that every clip is genuine, complete or from the same source. During an earlier August leak cycle, Axios noted that Rockstar had not officially confirmed the footage and that some viewers questioned its authenticity. That earlier uncertainty is context, not a verdict on the newest files. Axios’s account of that earlier cycle also described copyright takedowns and subpoenas sought by Take-Two.

What security concerns do the reports support?

Repeated circulation of alleged work-in-progress game material can reasonably raise concerns about confidentiality and the studio’s ability to limit spoilers. But the available reporting does not identify a compromised account or system, a technical vulnerability, or the route by which the latest files reached the public.

GamesRadar reported frustration among Rockstar staff because the latest circulation followed new security measures. That is reporting about staff reaction, not a technical incident analysis or evidence that a particular safeguard failed. The report also said the studio planned to proceed with its reveal plans.

How the reported incidents differ

Other incidents in Rockstar’s history should not be merged into an explanation for the newest footage. The available reporting describes distinct events with different evidence and does not establish a connection between them.

Incident What reporting says What it establishes about the latest footage
Latest Cyberleek batch GamesRadar attributed the reported 367 MB and 25-minute description to TexFunz2. The newest batch’s acquisition route and Rockstar authentication are not established in that report. GamesRadar No demonstrated technical cause or confirmed link to a specific intrusion.
April 2026 third-party breach Rockstar reportedly characterized the breach as involving “a limited amount of non-material company information.” GameSpot said public reporting indicated released files were mostly related to users’ spending habits rather than upcoming games. GameSpot The reporting reviewed here does not link the breach to the later GTA VI footage.
2022 Rockstar intrusion Take-Two disclosed that an unauthorized third party accessed and downloaded confidential Rockstar information, including early footage of the next Grand Theft Auto. A 2026 secondary account discusses additional claims attributed to a later tribunal filing, including phishing and security measures, while cautioning that they are not tribunal findings or independently verified accounts. TheDashDouble’s account It documents an earlier incident, not the method or source of the newest batch.

What has Rockstar said, and what legal steps were reported?

Rockstar’s August 26, 2026 public statement addressed an earlier wave of leaked gameplay, expressed regret to fans and acknowledged that spoilers could affect the intended experience. As reproduced by Gematsu, Rockstar said: “It would be an understatement to say that having videos of Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leak in this way has been heartbreaking for our team, and this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time.” Gematsu reproduced the statement; Game Developer also covered the response and its spoiler concern. GamesRadar reported that lawyers sought account details from Microsoft and Discord. Those reported legal steps do not establish who was behind the account, whether the person obtained files directly, or what access route was used. They should not be treated as a finding of technical root cause.

How did the GTA 6 footage leak?

The available reports do not answer that question for the latest batch. They do not substantiate a specific intrusion, compromised credential, insider disclosure or other acquisition method. Without an authenticated account of the files’ origin or a technical postmortem, describing this as a newly proven system breach would go beyond the evidence.

For readers deciding whether to view circulating clips, the practical caution is simple: their authenticity and completeness are not established by the reports cited here, and they may contain story spoilers. Rockstar’s statement addressed the impact of spoilers, not verification of each file now being shared.
