As of October 18, 2026, there is no official GTA VI weapon-stat table, attachment specification, or damage-type guide. Rockstar has shown several weapon classes and footage that appears to support deliberate body-region targeting, but it has not published numerical damage, fire-rate, magazine, recoil, range, armor or customization data.

Rockstar’s product page lists Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and displays a November 19, 2026 release date. Until launch data is available, every detailed number or compatibility chart circulating outside Rockstar should be treated as unverified rather than as a GTA VI fact.

What is actually confirmed about GTA VI weapons

The reliable pre-release picture is limited but useful. Official trailers and screenshots establish that firearms are part of GTA VI’s action, while gameplay footage offers clues about how aiming may feel. None of that material supplies a finished armory database.

Confirmed observation What it supports What it does not establish
Rockstar’s product page lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with November 19, 2026 displayed as the release date. The platforms and currently displayed launch timing. Any weapon balance, day-one patch content or later platform availability.
Official trailers and screenshots show handguns, revolvers, shotguns, automatic-rifle-like weapons, submachine-gun-like weapons and precision-rifle-like weapons. A broad mix of firearm roles is visible in released media. Final in-game names, brands, statistics, prices or whether every shown model is obtainable.
A gameplay breakdown published by PC Gamer identifies a reticle and apparent targeting of particular body regions, including a leg shot used to avoid a lethal hit. Aiming may be more deliberate and location-sensitive than a simple center-mass hit system. Final hit multipliers, limb damage values, incapacitation rules or a guaranteed non-lethal mode.
Planet GTA 6 reports that Rockstar has not published a weapon list, stats, prices or detailed customization system. Numerical comparisons and attachment charts are not presently citable. That any leaked spreadsheet or inferred model specification is authentic.

The distinction matters because a visual detail can be real without revealing the rule behind it. A rifle that appears to have an optic may be a separate weapon variant, a mission-specific prop, a temporary configuration or a player-installed part. Released footage alone cannot choose among those explanations.

Why there is no GTA 6 gun-stat table yet

A useful gun-stat table needs values measured under defined conditions. At minimum, it would identify damage per shot, rate of fire, magazine capacity, reload time, recoil, accuracy or spread, effective range, falloff, hit-location multipliers, armor interaction and ammunition behavior. Rockstar has not released those values for GTA VI.

Planet GTA 6 specifically notes that no rate of fire, magazine capacity or brand name has been published. It also says Rockstar has never published a weapon list, prices or a detailed customization system. Consequently, claims such as “this pistol does 42 damage,” “that rifle fires 800 rounds per minute” or “the shotgun has a 12-shell magazine” have no official GTA VI reference behind them at this stage.

Even a number extracted from a trailer would not be enough to create a dependable stat. Video playback can involve difficulty settings, enemy health states, armor, range, animation timing, damage-over-time effects or cinematic scripting. A launch guide should label a value as measured in-game, identify the weapon and ammunition, and explain the test conditions before presenting it as a comparison.

Which GTA VI guns have been shown

Released Rockstar media visibly includes several recognizable categories:

  • Handguns: compact sidearms used in close and medium-range scenes.
  • Revolvers: heavier-looking sidearms with a visible cylinder silhouette.
  • Shotguns: long guns presented for close-range encounters.
  • Automatic rifles: rifles shown firing sustained bursts or automatic fire.
  • Submachine-gun-like weapons: compact automatic firearms suited to movement and short-range engagements.
  • Precision-rifle-like weapons: longer firearms presented in scenes that imply deliberate, distant shots.

These are visual categories, not a final catalog. Independent identification of real-world analogues is an interpretation of shape and operation; it is not confirmation of Rockstar’s final names, brands or fictional performance. A weapon that resembles a familiar model may receive a different name, ammunition behavior and role in the shipped game.

  • Includes Grand Theft Auto Online, the ever-evolving Grand Theft Auto universe.
  • All new content and gameplay created and released since the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online including new Jobs, an arsenal of new weapons, scores of new vehicles, new properties and player customizations

The footage also does not prove that every visible firearm will be freely available in story missions, activities or multiplayer. Some may belong to a character, a scripted sequence or an environment. Availability, prices and carrying limits remain unannounced.

How aiming and hit locations appear to work

PC Gamer’s breakdown of officially released gameplay describes a reticle and apparent targeting of specific body regions. One highlighted example shows shooting a leg to avoid a lethal hit. That is the strongest current indication that GTA VI may reward choosing where to place a shot instead of treating every hit as an identical center-mass event.

“Appears” is important here. The footage demonstrates presentation and behavior in a particular sequence; it does not publish a damage formula. A leg hit could alter an animation, trigger an injury state, reduce mobility or simply be part of a scripted encounter. There is no confirmed multiplier for head, torso, arm or leg shots, and no published table showing how those locations interact with armor.

Until Rockstar or the finished game documents the system, avoid translating the footage into claims such as “legs deal 0.5× damage” or “headshots always kill.” The defensible statement is narrower: released gameplay appears to let the player aim at body regions, and at least one presentation emphasizes a potentially non-lethal leg shot.

Attachments and weapon customization: what the footage does not prove

No confirmed GTA VI attachment tree, weapon-workbench system, suppressor tier, optic-compatibility chart or upgrade currency has been published. Screenshots may show different finishes, sights or configurations, but those images do not establish how the player obtains or changes them.

Visible detail Possible explanations Safe wording before launch
A different sight or top-mounted component A separately installed optic, a distinct weapon model, a mission variant or a cinematic prop. “The released image shows a possible sight or configuration; compatibility is unconfirmed.”
A changed color or finish Player customization, a faction-specific appearance, environmental lighting or a separate model. “A different finish is visible; a paint system has not been confirmed.”
A weapon with a longer barrel or altered furniture An attachment, a different variant or a fictional model that only resembles another firearm. “The silhouette differs in footage; the game’s upgrade categories are unknown.”
A suppressor-shaped object A real attachment, a visual prop or an item used only in a scripted scene. “No suppressor progression or sound-suppression statistic is confirmed.”

This uncertainty also affects inventory advice. It is not yet possible to say that a particular pistol accepts a red-dot sight, that a rifle has a fixed number of slots, or that buying an attachment improves accuracy by a stated percentage. Those details should be recorded only when Rockstar documentation or repeatable in-game testing establishes them.

Does GTA VI have different damage types?

No official source currently names a GTA VI damage taxonomy or publishes multipliers. Categories often discussed by players—ballistic, explosive, incendiary, armor-piercing or elemental—are not confirmed GTA VI systems in the available material.

That does not mean the final game cannot distinguish ammunition or effects. It means there is no citable evidence for the names, rules or interactions. A flaming projectile in a trailer could represent an environmental effect, a scripted event or a final ammunition type; the footage alone cannot show whether it has a separate damage channel.

Do not import GTA V or GTA Online values into GTA VI. Earlier games can provide comparison points for how Rockstar has handled weapons, but their numbers, armor rules and labels would remain comparisons rather than GTA VI facts. A guide that copies an older multiplier table without launch verification risks giving players precise-looking information that belongs to another game.

Answers to the questions players are already asking

What are the GTA 6 gun stats?

Rockstar has not released official GTA VI values for damage per shot, rate of fire, magazine size, reload time, recoil, accuracy, range falloff, critical hits or armor penetration. Any complete numerical table published before those values appear in official documentation or reproducible game testing should be labeled unverified.

  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City: Welcome to the 1980s
  • Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas: Five years ago, Carl 'CJ' Johnson escaped the haze of Los Santos, San Andreas...a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs, and corruption.

Can you customize weapons in GTA 6?

A detailed customization system has not been confirmed. Released images may show different finishes or configurations, but they do not prove a player-installed attachment, a workbench, upgrade currency or interchangeable parts.

Does GTA 6 have different damage types?

No official damage-type list or multiplier chart has been published. Ballistic, explosive, incendiary and armor-piercing labels should not be presented as confirmed GTA VI categories.

Which GTA 6 guns do the most damage?

There is no reliable ranking yet because no official damage values or controlled launch tests exist. The visible presence of a revolver, shotgun or precision-rifle-like weapon does not establish which one has the highest damage.

Are the weapon attachments confirmed?

No. A sight, finish or altered silhouette in released media may be a visible modification, a separate model or a scripted variant. Attachment compatibility and upgrade effects remain unannounced.

How to build a trustworthy post-launch weapon guide

Once GTA VI is released, a useful comparison should separate Rockstar’s descriptions from measurements made in the game. Record the edition and platform, update version, difficulty, distance, target type, armor state, ammunition and whether a result comes from story content or another mode. Repeat each test enough times to distinguish a stable value from animation timing or random spread.

Comparison field What to measure Why it matters
Damage per shot Shots required against the same target at set distances. Shows base output and possible range falloff.
Rate of fire Rounds per second during controlled firing, including burst or automatic behavior. Separates single-shot power from sustained damage.
Accuracy and spread Shot grouping from a fixed stance and while moving. Reveals practical precision rather than relying on model appearance.
Recoil and handling Vertical and horizontal movement during repeated fire, with and without any confirmed modification. Shows how easily a player can keep follow-up shots on target.
Reload time and magazine Capacity, empty reload, tactical reload and interruption behavior. Determines downtime and ammunition management.
Hit-location behavior Head, torso and limb outcomes against identical targets. Tests whether the observed body-region aiming produces consistent effects.
Armor interaction Results against armored and unarmored targets using the same weapon. Identifies whether protection changes damage or hit reactions.
Attachments Available parts, compatible weapons and measured effect of each part. Prevents treating a cosmetic change as a performance upgrade.
Ammunition availability Carry limits, purchase locations, pickups and mission restrictions. Places theoretical damage in the context of actual supply.

Mark any cell as “not established” rather than filling it with a leak, a guess or a value borrowed from another Rockstar title. That discipline is especially important for damage types and attachments, where a visual resemblance can create a false sense of certainty.

What to expect before the November 2026 release

For now, the practical answer is to use the confirmed visual and gameplay evidence without pretending it is a finished specification. Players can expect multiple firearm classes to appear and can reasonably watch for body-region aiming based on released footage. They cannot yet choose a best gun by damage, plan an attachment build, or calculate armor penetration from published GTA VI data.

Rockstar’s currently displayed date is November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Those platform and timing details are the firm product information available alongside the limited weapon footage. A complete weapon guide should be updated only when official documentation or repeatable testing supplies the missing values.

Bottom line

GTA VI weapon stats, attachment compatibility and damage types are not officially documented as of October 18, 2026. Trailers show a varied arsenal, and gameplay appears to support deliberate body-region targeting, but no numerical table, customization tree or damage-type taxonomy is available. Treat every pre-release number as unverified, avoid importing GTA V or GTA Online values, and wait for launch evidence before deciding which GTA VI gun is strongest or which attachment is best.
