PlayStation’s official listings identify five PS5-focused features for Grand Theft Auto VI: DualSense haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, the controller’s integrated speaker, Tempest 3D AudioTech and the PS5’s ultra-high-speed SSD. The PlayStation Store also marks the game “PS5 Pro Enhanced” and confirms offline play, one-player support, Remote Play, and DualSense vibration and trigger effects.
The PS5 features PlayStation has confirmed
DualSense haptic feedback
PlayStation says the DualSense controller reacts to player actions through responsive vibrations. Haptics can convey impacts, movement and other in-game events with more detail than conventional rumble. The listing does not specify which individual actions trigger particular effects, so the exact implementation will only be clear when the game is released.
Adaptive triggers
Adaptive triggers add dynamic resistance to the DualSense buttons. PlayStation lists trigger effects as supported, allowing resistance to vary with an action rather than remaining a simple on/off input. No official source currently provides a complete mapping of weapons, vehicles or environmental interactions to trigger resistance.
Integrated controller speaker
The DualSense speaker is part of the feature list alongside haptics. PlayStation says it adds sound effects enhanced by the controller’s tactile feedback, giving some audio cues a more immediate connection to the action on screen.
#1 Best Overall
- Haptic feedback - Feel physically responsive feedback to your in-game actions with dual actuators which replace traditional rumble motors. In your hands, these dynamic vibrations can simulate the feeling of everything from environments to the recoil of different weapons. .Operating temperature : 41 °F to 95 °F (5 °C to 35 °C)
- Adaptive triggers - Experience varying levels of force and tension as you interact with your in-game gear and environments. From pulling back an increasingly tight bowstring to hitting the brakes on a speeding car, feel physically connected to your on-screen actions.
- Built-in microphone and headset jack - Chat with friends online using the built-in microphone or by connecting a headset to the 3.5mm jack. Easily switch voice capture on and off at a moment’s notice with the dedicated mute button. Internet and account for PlayStation Network required.
- DualSense Controller PS5 and PC compatible. Not compatible with PS4.
- PS Remote Play requires Remote Play App connected to Wi-Fi, PS4 or PS5 console with the latest system software and compatible game. A PS4 or PS5 console with a wired connection via a LAN cable is recommended. Version 4.0 of the Remote Play App on iOS and iPadOS or version 4.1 on macOS is required for games to be playable with the controller over Bluetooth.
Tempest 3D AudioTech
PlayStation says Tempest 3D AudioTech surrounds players in Leonida’s soundscapes and uses highly accurate audio positioning. The PlayStation Blog describes the goal as letting players “surround yourself in the distinct soundscapes of Leonida.” The listing confirms the audio technology, but does not publish headset requirements, supported audio modes or a channel-by-channel technical specification.
Ultra-high-speed SSD loading
PlayStation says the game leverages the PS5’s ultra-high-speed SSD for “near-instant load times.” That is an official performance description, not a published measurement in seconds. Actual loading will depend on the final build, the type of transition and other system conditions.

- Platform: PS5 Version.
- PS5 Pro: The game is labeled “PS5 Pro Enhanced.”
- Controller support: DualSense vibration function and trigger effects are supported.
- Play modes: Offline play is enabled and the listing supports one player.

“PS5 Pro Enhanced” confirms that the game has some PS5 Pro-specific enhancement, but PlayStation has not published the details. The current listings do not state a PS5 Pro resolution, frame-rate target, ray-tracing mode, graphics preset, or whether players can choose between performance and fidelity modes. Those specifications should not be inferred from the label alone.

Controller and hardware requirements
The controller-specific functions require a DualSense wireless controller connected to a PS5. Haptics, adaptive triggers, the integrated speaker and the Store’s vibration and trigger-effect labels all refer to that controller. Tempest 3D AudioTech is a PS5 audio feature, while the SSD benefit depends on running the PS5 version on the console’s internal high-speed storage architecture.
PlayStation’s marketing describes the title as a deeply engaging single-player experience built to take advantage of PS5 features. The Store separately confirms one-player support, offline play and Remote Play; it does not use those labels to describe any online mode or multiplayer offering.
What remains unconfirmed
- PS5 and PS5 Pro resolution targets.
- Frame-rate targets or selectable performance modes.
- Ray-tracing availability and settings.
- Detailed PS5 Pro enhancements.
- Exact DualSense behavior for individual weapons, vehicles and environmental events.
- Headset, soundbar and other audio-device requirements.
Until PlayStation or the developer publishes those details, claims about specific frame rates, resolutions or graphics modes are speculation rather than confirmed PS5 specifications.
