Rockstar has not published GTA 6 PC system requirements. Its official Grand Theft Auto VI page currently lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a November 19, 2026 release date. Rockstar’s platform support article discusses pre-orders for those consoles, but neither source gives a PC release date or CPU, graphics card, RAM, storage, operating-system or installation-size requirement. Until Rockstar announces a PC version and posts specifications, no minimum or recommended PC build can be presented as confirmed.
What Rockstar has officially confirmed
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently announced for two console families
Rockstar’s official Grand Theft Auto VI page, accessed October 13, 2026, shows a November 19, 2026 release date and lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. PC is not among the platforms displayed on that page.
That is a platform statement, not a prediction that a PC edition will never exist. It means only that Rockstar’s current public announcement does not identify a PC version. A console release date cannot be converted into a PC release date, and console hardware cannot be translated into an equivalent graphics card or processor requirement without an official PC specification.
The support article does not add PC specifications
Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI Platforms, Editions, and Versions article, last updated August 18, 2026, describes pre-orders for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It does not publish a PC platform listing, PC launch date, or hardware requirements.

Therefore, the only defensible answer to “What are the GTA 6 PC requirements?” at present is that Rockstar has not released them. Any article or video naming a required Intel or AMD processor, Nvidia or AMD graphics card, RAM amount, SSD capacity, Windows version or install size is offering an estimate rather than reporting an official requirement.

These omissions matter when you are deciding whether to buy or upgrade a computer. A requirement list is useful only when it is tied to a particular PC build, operating-system version and performance target. Without Rockstar’s numbers, a “minimum PC” label has no official meaning.
Can your current PC run GTA 6?
There is no reliable yes-or-no test yet. You can compare your computer with a future requirement list only after Rockstar publishes one. Until then, a compatibility checker cannot produce a trustworthy result because it would have to invent the game’s required CPU features, graphics workload, memory footprint and storage behavior.

Console availability does not solve that problem. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S use fixed hardware and carefully controlled software environments. A PC version would need to support many processor architectures, graphics drivers, memory configurations and storage devices. The eventual PC specification could also include separate targets for resolution, frame rate, visual presets or features such as ray tracing. None of those targets has been announced for GTA 6 PC.
What you can check now
- Record your processor model, graphics-card model and dedicated VRAM, installed system RAM, operating-system edition and available storage.
- Note whether your games are installed on an SSD or a hard disk, but do not treat either drive type as a confirmed GTA 6 requirement.
- Keep driver and operating-system updates current if you use the PC for other games; updated software can improve general compatibility, but it cannot establish GTA 6 support.
- Set aside an upgrade budget without purchasing a component specifically on the assumption that it will satisfy an unannounced requirement.
Why GTA V requirements do not predict GTA 6 requirements
Rockstar does publish PC specifications for Grand Theft Auto V, including separate information for GTA V Enhanced and GTA V Legacy. Those figures describe GTA V only. They are not a formula for calculating GTA 6 requirements, and meeting them is not evidence that a PC will run the next game.

The table is useful only as a reminder that even one game can distinguish between minimum and recommended memory and storage technology. It does not establish that GTA 6 will need 8 GB, 16 GB, 105 GB, an SSD, DirectStorage or any particular CPU and GPU. Treating GTA V numbers as GTA 6 predictions confuses two different games and editions.

What a genuine GTA 6 PC requirement announcement should contain
When Rockstar does announce PC support, look for a complete specification rather than a single graphics-card name. A useful official table should identify the following:

Read the heading and footnotes of every row. “Minimum” generally describes the lowest supported configuration under stated conditions, not a guarantee of a smooth experience at your preferred settings. “Recommended” is meaningful only when Rockstar states the resolution, frame rate and preset it targets.

Should you buy a PC for GTA 6 now?
If GTA 6 is the reason for the purchase
Wait for two announcements before choosing components: a PC platform confirmation and an official requirements table. Buying a high-end graphics card or processor now could leave you with a system that is either unnecessarily expensive or mismatched to the eventual software requirements. Prices and product generations can also change before a PC edition is announced.
You can still buy a computer for current games or work, but describe that purchase accurately: it is a general-purpose or current-game PC, not a confirmed GTA 6-ready system. Do not let a retailer, benchmark thumbnail or compatibility badge imply that Rockstar has approved a configuration when Rockstar has not published one.
If you need to play at launch
The currently announced launch platforms are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar’s support article covers pre-orders for those platforms. A console purchase addresses the platform Rockstar has announced; it does not provide evidence about a future PC edition or its timing.

How to verify the requirements when they are released
- Open the official Grand Theft Auto VI page and Rockstar Support, and confirm that the announcement names PC rather than relying on a retailer listing.
- Check the publication or update date. Requirements can change between an early announcement, a pre-load period and launch.
- Copy every minimum and recommended row, including the stated operating system, storage free-space requirement, API, resolution and frame-rate target.
- Compare your exact CPU, GPU, VRAM, RAM and drive with those rows. Do not compare only a product family name; a model number and generation matter.
- Check available free space, not merely the drive’s advertised capacity. Leave room for installation files, updates and any launcher requirement if Rockstar specifies one.
- Look for separate notes about laptop GPUs, integrated graphics, ray tracing, upscaling, online features or edition-specific content.
- If your computer falls below minimum, use Rockstar’s stated limits as the decision point. If it meets minimum but not recommended, expect a different performance target rather than assuming failure.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Repeating a leaked specification as fact: A screenshot or unattributed list is not an official requirement. Label estimates as estimates, or leave them out.
- Turning GTA V numbers into a forecast: The 8 GB, 16 GB, 105 GB and DirectStorage figures above belong to GTA V Enhanced, not GTA 6.
- Inferring a PC GPU from a console: Console hardware and PC graphics cards do not map one-to-one, especially across different rendering settings and performance targets.
- Assuming the console date is the PC date: The official November 19, 2026 date is shown with the announced console platforms.
- Buying storage based on an invented install size: Rockstar has not supplied a GTA 6 PC capacity or free-space number.
- Using “can run” without a target: Ask whether the claim means launch, playable frame rates, a particular resolution, a visual preset or a feature such as ray tracing.

Bottom line for a GTA 6 PC upgrade
As of the October 13, 2026 official information reviewed, GTA 6 is announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with a November 19, 2026 date, while PC requirements remain unpublished. There is no confirmed CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, operating-system or installation-size figure to use when buying parts. Wait for Rockstar’s PC platform announcement and complete requirements table before making a GTA 6-specific upgrade decision.
