Rockstar Games published the Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer on October 15, 2026. The trailer debuts “Flower in a Hurricane,” a new song by Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Rockstar and Take-Two have also confirmed a November 19, 2026 launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with digital pre-loading and physical-code availability beginning November 12.

What the launch trailer confirms

Rockstar’s official page labels the video “Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer” and dates it October 15, 2026. It is the latest major trailer in the announced sequence, following the extended look published August 27, 2026, Trailer 2 on May 6, 2025, and Trailer 1 on December 4, 2023.

The launch announcement establishes the game’s central story setup rather than publishing a shot-by-shot scene list. Rockstar’s synopsis follows Jason and Lucia after an easy score fails, pulling them into a criminal conspiracy that stretches across the fictional state of Leonida. Vice City is the story’s central setting, and the pair must depend on one another to survive.

“Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”

Because Rockstar’s launch page does not provide a written scene breakdown, details about individual shots, missions, characters or locations should be treated as trailer observations rather than separately confirmed features unless Rockstar states them elsewhere.

“Flower in a Hurricane” is the trailer’s new song

The trailer debuts “Flower in a Hurricane” by Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Rockstar identifies Justice as the original-score composers for Grand Theft Auto VI. That makes the track both a launch-trailer premiere and an introduction to the musical team credited with the game’s score.

The announcement does not state whether the song will be available as an in-game radio track, a mission-specific cue, or a separately playable soundtrack release. Those details remain distinct from the confirmed trailer debut.

Release date and supported consoles

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026. The announced platforms are:

Platform Confirmed availability
PlayStation 5 Launches November 19, 2026
Xbox Series X|S Launches November 19, 2026

Rockstar and Take-Two’s release announcement names only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It does not announce a PC edition or launch timing for any other console generation, so buyers on unsupported hardware should not assume compatibility.

Editions, prices and pre-loading

Take-Two lists two editions at launch. The prices below are the announced US prices.

Grand Theft Auto V - NL (PS3)

Edition Price What the announcement establishes
Standard Edition $79.99 Base game
Ultimate Edition $99.99 Includes premium items; the announcement also references Vintage Vice City pre-order benefits

Digital pre-loading begins November 12, 2026, one week before launch. The physical release is also available November 12 and contains a download code rather than a conventional game disc, according to Take-Two’s announcement. That timing is intended to let physical buyers begin downloading ahead of launch, although the announcement does not specify the exact activation process for each retailer or platform.

Physical soundtrack and collector items

Rockstar is promoting GTAVI: The Album in vinyl and CD formats for pre-order through its official channels. It is also promoting a Vice City Collection and a collector’s box. The announcement confirms these products exist but does not give a complete itemized contents list, regional pricing or shipping schedule.

These physical products are separate from the Standard and Ultimate game editions. If you want the game itself before launch, check whether a listing is for a console game code or for soundtrack and merchandise instead.

How to choose a version

Choose the Standard Edition if you want the base game

At $79.99, the Standard Edition is the lower-cost way to obtain the game. It is available for both announced console families, with digital pre-loading starting November 12.

Choose the Ultimate Edition if its premium items matter to you

The Ultimate Edition costs $20 more at the announced US price. Rockstar and Take-Two reference premium items and Vintage Vice City pre-order benefits, but the launch announcement does not provide a full contents breakdown. Confirm the retailer’s item list before paying the difference.

Choose physical-code packaging if you want a boxed purchase

The physical version is scheduled for November 12 and contains a download code. It is therefore a boxed purchase that still requires downloading the game; verify storage space and broadband availability before launch week.

What is still not confirmed

  • No PC release date or PC platform announcement is included in the launch information.
  • The announcement does not provide a complete list of Ultimate Edition premium items.
  • Regional prices outside the announced US figures are not stated.
  • Rockstar’s launch page does not publish a written, shot-by-shot explanation of the trailer.
  • The announcement does not specify download sizes, required console storage, preload times by region, or the exact code-redemption steps for physical retailers.

For the clearest buying decision, match your console to the two confirmed platforms, select the $79.99 or $99.99 edition, and plan around November 12 for downloading or receiving the physical code. Access to the game itself is scheduled for November 19, 2026.
