The group photo is an official event image for NAVISP Industry Days 2026 in Rome. It relates to the 14–15 October 2026 gathering at the Aula Magna of Università La Sapienza, where the European Space Agency’s NAVISP programme brought together organisations working across positioning, navigation and timing (PNT).
What is the NAVISP Industry Days 2026 group photo?
The image labelled “NAVISP Industry Days 2026 in Rome” on the official NAVISP homepage is a group photograph from that event. It should be read as an event-wide portrait rather than a picture of one technical session. The available official information identifies the occasion, location and programme, but does not name the photographer or provide a verified list of everyone pictured.
NAVISP Industry Days is a forum for the PNT value chain. Its audience includes established companies, emerging innovators, academic researchers and other stakeholders. The group image therefore represents the community attending the 2026 Industry Days, rather than a product launch or a separate NAVISP project meeting.

Why the 2026 theme matters to the image
“Between Science and Art” was more than a caption. NAVISP connected the theme to the Aula Magna’s setting and its painting depicting the personification of Italy among Arts and Science. That context explains why an official group portrait from the venue can be presented as part of the event’s visual identity: it records the people gathered in a historic academic setting while the programme dealt with highly technical PNT challenges.
What topics were represented at Industry Days?
The photograph does not, by itself, identify which discussion a person attended. The published programme supplies the context for the gathering:

Day 1: resilience, ports and underwater applications
- Resilient PNT, addressing the need for positioning, navigation and timing that can continue operating when signals or infrastructure are disrupted.
- PNT for ports, focused on requirements and use cases in maritime facilities.
- Underwater applications, where conventional satellite positioning is unavailable and complementary approaches are important.
Day 2: unmanned, complementary and indoor PNT
- Unmanned operations and their dependence on dependable navigation and timing.
- eLoran and other complementary PNT technologies.
- Indoor PNT, covering environments where outdoor satellite signals are weak or absent.
The programme also included industry pitches, business-to-business sessions involving academia, industry and NAVISP representatives, and an event for young professionals. These activities help explain why the official image includes a broad cross-section of participants rather than only speakers from one track.
