Rockstar Games released the Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer on October 15, 2026. The video puts Jason and Lucia back at the center of a criminal conspiracy in Leonida, mixing a provocative shower scene with a police pursuit and aerial heist action. The game is scheduled to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
When did the GTA 6 launch trailer release?
The launch trailer was published by Rockstar Games on October 15, 2026. Rockstar’s official trailer page labels the video with that date, while the accompanying Newswire announcement sets out the story premise and confirms the game’s release date.
This is the launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, rather than a dated announcement for another preview. Rockstar has not published an independent audience, view-count or review statistic alongside the release, so there is no verified official figure for how many people watched it.

The trailer’s edit is built around three headline sequences: an intimate shower scene, a tense police chase and spectacular high-flying heist imagery. Rockstar’s written announcement does not provide a shot-by-shot transcript, so those details describe what appears in the official video rather than dialogue or a complete plot summary.
#1 Best Overall
- This product contains a download code inside the box — no disc is included. Customer shipments will begin arriving November 12 for pre-load; game is playable starting November 19.
- Pre-order to receive the Vintage Vice City Pack.
- Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience.
The shower scene
A saucy shower sequence is one of the trailer’s most conspicuous visual moments. It reinforces the game’s adult tone, but the published material does not establish additional story details about the scene or identify every character shown in it.
The police chase
The trailer also shows Jason and Lucia caught in a high-pressure police pursuit. The sequence fits Rockstar’s broader setup: an apparently easy score goes wrong, leaving the pair exposed while a much larger criminal operation closes in.
The aerial and heist action
High-flying imagery and heist set pieces round out the edit. These shots point to the scale of the operation across Leonida, although Rockstar has not described each location, aircraft or mission represented in the trailer.

Who are Jason and Lucia?
Jason and Lucia remain the central criminal duo. Rockstar’s official synopsis says they have always known “the deck is stacked against them.” After an easy score goes wrong, they end up “on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America,” in a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida.
The two characters are forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to survive. That wording establishes the trailer’s core dramatic relationship without revealing the full chain of events, the identity of the wider conspirators or the ending.

What song plays in the GTA 6 launch trailer?
The trailer features “Flower in a Hurricane” by Justice, with Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Rockstar says the standalone single is available. It also says Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album can be preordered in physical vinyl and CD formats.
The announcement confirms the song and the physical formats, but it does not publish a complete track list or specify how many songs will be on the album.
What the trailer confirms—and what it does not
- Confirmed: the trailer’s publication date is October 15, 2026.
- Confirmed: Jason and Lucia are drawn into a Leonida-wide criminal conspiracy after a failed score.
- Confirmed: the video includes a shower scene, police chase and aerial or heist imagery.
- Confirmed: the game is scheduled for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
- Confirmed: “Flower in a Hurricane” is the featured song, and the album has vinyl and CD preorder options.
- Not established by the cited official material: a PC release date, independent viewing figures, review scores, sales numbers or a full scene-by-scene plot explanation.
What to watch for before launch
For a preorder decision, first select the console family you own, then compare the Standard and Ultimate listings on that platform. Check the edition’s exact bonus description, delivery format and regional price. If you want the music separately, verify whether you prefer vinyl or CD and treat that album preorder as distinct from the game purchase.
Until Rockstar publishes more platform or edition details, November 19, 2026 remains the firm date for the announced console versions. The launch trailer supplies a sharper look at the tone and partnership between Jason and Lucia, while leaving the larger Leonida conspiracy—and any unannounced platforms—open.
