Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and the anticipation is already producing measurable audience and preorder activity. Take-Two lists a $79.99 standard edition and a $99.99 Ultimate Edition. A boxed version is dated November 12, but it contains a download code rather than a conventional game disc.
When is GTA 6 coming out?
Rockstar’s current listing gives Grand Theft Auto VI a November 19, 2026 release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. That is the latest date in a sequence of announcements: the game was first announced on December 4, 2023, with a 2025 target; after Trailer 2 arrived on May 6, 2025, Take-Two listed May 26, 2026; the official listing now shows November 19, 2026.

These are the prices listed by Take-Two for the announced editions. The published information identifies the Ultimate Edition as the higher-priced tier, but it does not provide a complete itemized list of every premium item in that tier. The one-month GTA+ offer applies to digital preorders, while the Vintage Vice City Pack is identified as a preorder incentive.

Can you preorder the physical edition?
Preorders were announced to begin June 25, 2026. The physical boxed version is announced for November 12, 2026—one week before the November 19 game date. It includes a download code, supports preload ahead of launch, and therefore should not be interpreted as a disc containing the full game. Availability, retailer inventory and any retailer-specific extras are separate questions from the publisher’s announced product format.

Why GTA VI hype is so high
The scale of the Grand Theft Auto brand provides the baseline. Those are company-reported sales milestones, not forecasts for GTA VI.

The new game also has a recognizable setting and a two-character premise. Jason and Lucia operate in Vice City and the wider state of Leonida. Their failed score draws them into a criminal conspiracy, giving the marketing a clear story hook while returning the series to its Vice City setting.
Reveal-hour audience response
Axios, citing Sensor Tower, reported that U.S. Netflix app usage rose 35% during the reveal hour compared with the preceding hour and 50% compared with the same hour on the previous day. The figures indicate unusual concurrent attention around the reveal, but they measure app activity rather than GTA VI sales.

Preorder estimates
Sensor Tower estimated nearly 5 million preorders, with most customers choosing the Ultimate Edition, according to Axios. This is a third-party estimate, not an audited preorder total released by Take-Two or Rockstar. It is useful as a signal of demand, but it should not be presented as confirmed company sales.

What the chart really shows
The strongest evidence is directional rather than a single definitive sales number. Official materials establish the date, platforms, prices and purchase formats. Third-party Sensor Tower figures, reported by Axios, add signs of extraordinary attention and early demand, but they remain estimates. Together with Grand Theft Auto V’s sales scale and Rockstar’s broader commercial reach, those indicators explain why GTA VI remains one of the most closely watched game launches—even though a PC announcement and an audited preorder count are still absent.
