The Govee TV Backlight 3 Pro is a camera-based ambient-lighting kit that reads colors on your TV screen and uses them to drive lights behind the television. Choose the H66A0 for a 55–65-inch TV or the H66A1 for a 75–85-inch TV. Its size options and feature set look promising, but the strongest independent performance evidence available is one reviewer’s hands-on experience—not controlled testing—so room conditions and camera placement matter.
What the TV Backlight 3 Pro does
A camera mounted above the TV captures screen colors and sends them to the backlight strip. That differs from an HDMI sync box, which takes its cue from the video signal traveling through the box. The camera approach is worth considering if you prefer not to route video through a separate sync device; it also makes camera placement and the view of the screen relevant to setup.
Govee advertises a triple-camera system with HDR color capture processed at 1080p/30fps, multi-zone calibration, dual exposure, RGBWWIC lighting, AI Film Mood Matching, and synchronization with up to 10 Govee devices. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not independent measurements. Govee’s 2025 launch announcement describes the system and its advertised features at its launch announcement.

These are the two size ranges on Govee’s US product listing. Match the model to the TV diagonal before ordering. The size range alone cannot establish compatibility with every bezel shape or room layout; check whether the camera can sit above your screen and face it as intended.

Govee’s regional listings do not present every specification in the same way, so treat the detailed figures below as specific to the UK H66A0 listing rather than assuming that each applies to both models or every regional package.

These are manufacturer-published specifications on Govee’s UK product page, accessed October 7, 2026. That page also lists Alexa, Google, Matter, and synchronization with up to 10 DreamView devices. The US listing names Matter support. Smart-home controls and detailed specifications can vary by region or implementation, so confirm the selected listing and the controls you use rather than assuming identical behavior across ecosystems.

How it performs: what one review found
In an October 22, 2025 review, Android Central’s reviewer installed the kit on a 75-inch TV and said setup took just over 10 minutes. The reviewer reported that the camera covered the TV’s length and found the 3 Pro brighter and better at rendering HDR colors than their previous experience with Govee’s T2. This is one reviewer’s account, not a controlled comparison or a guarantee of the same result in another room. The same reviewer was less convinced by the AI film-atmosphere filter. Setup conditions that can affect screen matching
Because the camera reads the display, its view of the screen is part of the system. Govee’s UK setup guidance warns that interfering light, direct bright light, and reflections on the TV screen can affect operation. It also says the setup distance from the TV edge can be adjusted to suit TV size.

- Reduce reflections on the screen where practical.
- Use Govee’s adjustment for setup distance from the TV edge to suit your screen size.
These checks address the conditions Govee identifies; they do not establish that every TV shape or room can be accommodated.

Prices depend on the listing, variant, and date. Govee’s US listing showed $209.99 when accessed October 7, 2026. Android Central’s October 2025 review reported period prices of $179 for the standard-size version and $209 for the larger one. Those are dated figures from different listings and times, not a like-for-like current price comparison. Check the live listing for the model you need before buying.

The 3 Pro is a plausible choice if you want screen-following rear lighting and are comfortable positioning a camera above your TV. Its advertised features are extensive, and one reviewer reported a positive brightness and HDR-color improvement over their prior T2 experience. If camera placement, reflections, or lighting conditions are difficult in your room, the camera-based approach deserves extra scrutiny; available evidence does not establish a universal advantage over HDMI-based systems.
