Fine Lock is the best-documented alternative when Samsung Good Lock is unavailable on your Galaxy phone—but it is not a replacement customization suite. Fine Lock is a community launcher for Good Lock and Galaxy Labs modules. It cannot download those modules, and it is not made by Samsung. You must obtain compatible modules separately.
When Good Lock appears in your local Galaxy Store and supports your phone, Samsung’s official app remains the most direct option. Availability depends on your region, Galaxy model, and One UI software version.
What Good Lock does
Good Lock is Samsung’s modular customization system for Galaxy phones. Instead of putting every feature in one large settings screen, Samsung distributes functions across separate modules. You install Good Lock from the Galaxy Store, then add or update the modules you need inside the app.

Samsung’s main Good Lock modules

Samsung has also highlighted features outside that core list. Edge Lighting+ provides additional notification visuals, while Nice Shot adds screenshot and screen-recording conveniences. These examples show that Good Lock is not limited to changing colors or wallpapers.
Why Good Lock may not appear on your phone
Good Lock is distributed through the Galaxy Store rather than being universally available through every Android app store. Samsung and Fine Lock’s developer both indicate that availability is restricted by market, and support can also depend on the device and software version.
The most common explanations are:
- Regional availability: The Galaxy Store catalog differs between markets.
- Device support: Samsung can expose different features for different Galaxy models.
- One UI version: A module may require a particular software generation or may change behavior after an update.
- One UI Core: Fine Lock’s developer says devices running One UI Core support only some Good Lock modules.
There is no published, universal compatibility matrix covering every Galaxy model, One UI release, module, and country. Check your exact phone and current local store listings rather than assuming that another Galaxy owner’s setup will work for you.

Fine Lock is a third-party launcher for Good Lock and Galaxy Labs modules. Its Google Play listing explicitly says that it has no connection with Samsung Electronics or Samsung Mobile. It also states that Fine Lock cannot download modules.
What Fine Lock can do
- Provide an organized place to launch compatible Good Lock or Galaxy Labs modules.
- Help users reach modules when the official Good Lock app is unavailable in their region or is not listed for their device.
- Keep module shortcuts together instead of requiring you to locate each installed module separately.
What Fine Lock cannot do
- It does not recreate Samsung’s customization features by itself.
- It does not download or install the modules for you.
- It is not a full replacement launcher for redesigning the entire Android home experience.
- It cannot make an unsupported module compatible with your phone or One UI version.
Think of Fine Lock as a door into separately installed modules, not as the room containing the customization features. If the modules are missing or incompatible, Fine Lock has nothing useful to launch.

Choose the right route
- Search the Galaxy Store for Good Lock. If it appears and the modules you need support your phone, use Samsung’s official app.
- Install Good Lock and add modules. Samsung’s documented path is to install Good Lock from the Galaxy Store, then add or update applications within Good Lock.
- Check your phone’s One UI edition. If the device uses One UI Core, inspect each desired module individually; only some modules are compatible.
- Use Fine Lock only when the official route is unavailable or impractical. Install Fine Lock, then install the required modules separately according to their own instructions.
- Match the tool to your goal. If you want to personalize Samsung’s stock components, a module launcher may help. If you want a wholesale home-screen replacement, Fine Lock is not documented as that kind of product.
How to install and use Good Lock
Step 1: Check the Galaxy Store
Open the Galaxy Store on the phone you want to customize and search for “Good Lock.” Store visibility is region- and device-dependent, so the result on another phone is not proof that it should appear on yours.
Step 2: Install Samsung’s app
If Good Lock is listed, install it from the Galaxy Store. Samsung’s support guidance identifies the Galaxy Store as the installation route.
Step 3: Add only the modules you need
Open Good Lock and add or update the relevant applications. For example, choose QuickStar for Quick panel work, LockStar for lock-screen changes, or Keys Cafe for keyboard customization. Installing fewer modules makes it easier to identify which one causes a compatibility problem.
Step 4: Test after installation
Open each module and confirm that its settings are present and apply correctly. A module can install while still offering fewer functions on a particular model or software version.
How to use Fine Lock when Good Lock is unavailable
Step 1: Install Fine Lock
Find Fine Lock in its Google Play listing and install it. Read the listing carefully: it identifies Fine Lock as independent from Samsung and warns that it cannot download modules.

Step 2: Obtain compatible modules separately
Fine Lock needs the actual Good Lock or Galaxy Labs modules to be installed on the phone. Acquire each module through a legitimate installation route available to your device, and follow that module’s own instructions. Fine Lock itself will not fetch the files.

Launch Fine Lock and select an installed module. If the module is compatible and correctly installed, Fine Lock provides a convenient shortcut to it.
Step 4: Verify support before building a large setup
Start with one module, test it, and then add others. This is especially important on One UI Core devices, where the developer says only some modules work.
Which module should you look for?
QuickStar for Quick panel and status information
Use QuickStar when your priority is the status bar or Quick panel. It is the documented Good Lock module for those areas, subject to the limits of your model and One UI version.
LockStar for the lock screen and AOD
LockStar targets the lock screen and always-on display. It is the relevant choice when your desired changes concern clock placement, lock-screen layout, or AOD presentation rather than the home screen.

NavStar for navigation
NavStar addresses navigation controls. The available settings can differ by software version, so check what the module exposes on your phone instead of assuming every documented option will be present.
Theme Park for themes and icons
Theme Park is the module for creating or adjusting themes and icon appearance. It is more targeted than a generic wallpaper change because it works on supported visual elements across the Samsung interface.
Keys Cafe for the keyboard
Keys Cafe focuses on Samsung Keyboard customization. It is the appropriate module when your aim is keyboard layout or appearance rather than system-wide theming.
Wonderland for animated wallpaper
Wonderland creates moving wallpaper effects. Samsung’s feature examples include animated wallpaper, making this a choice for motion-based backgrounds rather than static images.
Home Up for home and app layouts
Home Up adjusts supported home-screen and app-layout behavior. It is the closest match among the listed modules to a layout-focused customization request, but it is not the same as replacing Samsung’s entire launcher.

Good Lock does not appear in Galaxy Store search
Do not assume the app has been discontinued. Store availability can depend on your market, model, and software. Confirm that you are searching the Galaxy Store on the affected phone, then consider Fine Lock only if you can separately install compatible modules.
A module is missing from Fine Lock
Fine Lock cannot download modules. First confirm that the module itself is installed. If it is installed but still unavailable, check whether your phone and One UI version support it; One UI Core devices may support only a subset.

The module installs but options are limited
Samsung states that features and settings vary by software version and phone model. A limited menu can therefore be a compatibility condition rather than an installation failure.
A previously working setting changes after an update
Recheck the module after every major One UI or app update. Compatibility is version-sensitive, and a setting that existed on one release may be moved, changed, or unavailable on another.
You want a completely different launcher
Fine Lock is not documented as a full launcher replacement. It launches Samsung’s modules; it does not provide a separate home-screen system. Choose a tool based on whether you want to customize Samsung components or replace the home experience altogether.
Important limits of the evidence
Samsung Newsroom’s feature examples are dated April 15, 2025, while Samsung’s support guide was last updated October 1, 2026. Store catalogs and module support can change independently of those publication dates. The available documentation does not establish a complete, current compatibility table for every Galaxy phone, One UI release, module, and country.
