God’s Eye is a locally run website that places selected public-data feeds on a 3D Earth globe. The Gh0st-mods fork featured in a September 23, 2026 Hackers Arise walkthrough is presented as usable without paid APIs for its basic experience, though the walkthrough does not verify today’s repository status, feed coverage, or setup compatibility.

What God’s Eye can show

God’s Eye presents public data as selectable layers on a globe. Co11ateral’s walkthrough describes examples including aircraft, vessels, satellites, earthquakes, public traffic cameras, dams, and data centers. It also shows satellite imagery and alternate aircraft visual presets.

For selected aircraft and vessels, the walkthrough says the interface can expose details such as identity, speed, and heading. These are examples of what the article presents, not independent confirmation that every feed is available, accurate, or current in every location.

This is not a literal satellite-surveillance system or a source of unrestricted intelligence. As Co11ateral puts it, “The data is just ordinary public feeds.” The walkthrough reports no measured accuracy, geographic coverage, refresh interval, or performance results.

Does God’s Eye require paid API access?

The walkthrough characterizes the Gh0st-mods fork as working for free out of the box and says the original project uses paid APIs for a richer experience. Treat that as the author’s account, not a current price comparison or an audit of either project.

It says many layers operate without API keys and that keys can be added to a .env file for a richer experience. It does not specify which individual layers need keys, identify every provider, list current API prices, or quantify coverage and latency. If you add credentials, check the relevant provider’s terms and current pricing; the walkthrough does not supply those details.

How the walkthrough says to run the Gh0st-mods fork

The author’s instructions assume an Ubuntu-style environment with Node.js, npm, and Git available. They have not been independently tested for compatibility with current versions, so treat them as the walkthrough’s directions rather than a verified installation recipe.

The walkthrough does not establish whether the repository is currently maintained, whether the commands work with current Node.js and npm releases, or what security posture the software has. Review the repository and its dependencies before running unfamiliar code, and avoid putting API credentials into an environment file unless you understand how the project uses them.

What is known about the original project versus the fork

The walkthrough offers only a limited distinction, not a systematic comparison. Both are described as locally run globe interfaces, while the author says the fork can show many layers without keys and the original uses paid APIs for a richer experience.

Question Original God’s Eye, as described Gh0st-mods fork, as described
API access The author says paid APIs are used for a richer experience. The author says many layers work without keys; keys may be added for a richer experience.
Price or API costs Current prices are not stated in the walkthrough. Current prices are not stated in the walkthrough.
Local use The walkthrough describes God’s Eye as a locally run website. The setup instructions run the fork locally at localhost:4173.
Demonstrated layers A complete original-project layer list is not stated in the walkthrough. Examples shown include aircraft, vessels, satellites, earthquakes, public traffic cameras, dams, and data centers.

The source does not establish a difference in accuracy, completeness, reliability, or security between the two projects.

What to verify before relying on a layer

A globe display makes public feeds convenient to explore, but it does not by itself validate their provenance or completeness. The walkthrough does not name all providers or specify feed terms, update schedules, regional availability, or error rates. For consequential decisions, identify the upstream source for the particular layer and verify the information independently.
