God of War III Remastered has an unofficial Windows port, but it is not a Sony PC release: the reported project requires a specific PS4 game build, and its developers describe it as alpha despite being playable from the opening through the final fight. Separately, God of War Laufey was announced for PS5; PC Gamer reported in June 2026 that a PC version was unlikely in the foreseeable future, not that it would never happen.
What the unofficial God of War III Remastered port offers
DSOGaming reported on October 12, 2026, that the community-made Windows port can be played from the opening through the final fight. The outlet says menus, cutscenes, music, voices, and effects work. It also reports keyboard and mouse support with rebindable keys, as well as compatibility with DualSense, Xbox, and other gamepads. DSOGaming’s report

According to that report, the project is based on Supermedo’s Windows port, which in turn builds on deadinside28’s Bloodborne PC project, with God of War III fixes from cuesta4’s shadPS4 fork. That is the outlet’s account of the project’s lineage; the repositories were not independently inspected.
Reported tools and settings
DSOGaming describes a launcher with settings and save backups. In-game options reportedly include frame limits, FSR 1, overlays, mods, and cheats. These are reported features, not a guarantee that every option works reliably in every configuration.
#1 Best Overall
- True to the series roots, the four pillars of game play - brutal combat, intricate puzzles, exploration of awe-inspiring worlds
- God of War III is the epic conclusion to the Greek mythological trilogy, which will complete Kratos' story
- New deadly weapons like the Cestus, powerful metal gauntlets with devastating strength, and other brutal instruments of war
- The menacing creatures of Greek mythology can now be manipulated against their will, to cross chasms, inflict blind rage against enemies
- God of War III picks up exactly where God of War II left off ? Kratos must take his quest for vengeance to the very stronghold of the Zeus.
Alpha status and reported performance
Being playable through the full game does not mean the port is finished. DSOGaming calls it an alpha and warns that bugs and glitches may occur. The outlet did not establish a complete compatibility list or minimum PC specification.
DSOGaming reported an average of 144 FPS at 1080p, with drops to 55 FPS and peaks of 240 FPS, on a system with a Ryzen 5 5600X, 32 GB of RAM, and a Radeon RX 6700 XT. On that same setup, it reported an average of 108 FPS at 4K with FSR. These are the outlet’s results for one described PC, published October 12, 2026—not independent benchmarks, minimum requirements, or predictions for another system. DSOGaming’s report

What you need to play it
DSOGaming says the port requires a copy of God of War III Remastered for PS4, build CUSA01623, updated to version 01.02. The report does not establish whether every regional disc or digital listing matches that build. Check the exact version before relying on a copy, and do not assume buying the PS4 game guarantees that the unofficial Windows project will work.
The report names several supported controller types but does not require a particular controller. Its performance test is not a recommended-spec list; no minimum or recommended PC hardware was established.
Rank #3
- The God of War Collection includes: God of War and God of War II on one Blu-ray Disc for play on the PlayStation 3.
- Rediscover two of the most highly praised games ever developed for the PS2 in advance of the upcoming release of God of War III on PS3.
- Remastered in high-definition at a resolution of 720p and including anti-aliased graphics for 60 frames per second gameplay.
- Full PlayStation Network (PSN) Trophies support for each game.
How this differs from the Bloodborne PC news
The timing is a comparison between community projects, not two official Sony PC releases. GamesRadar’s October 9, 2026 coverage discussed fan-made Bloodborne PC projects and noted a project release post dated October 7. It also reported skepticism about one project’s claims and AI-assisted development; those points are GamesRadar’s reporting, not independently verified conclusions. GamesRadar’s coverage
For both games, keep the distinction clear: a fan-made or community project is not the same as a Windows edition published or endorsed by Sony. The reported God of War III port depends on a specific PS4 game build, and its alpha status means bugs remain possible.

Is God of War Laufey coming to PC or Steam?
As of PC Gamer’s June 2, 2026 report, God of War Laufey had been announced for PlayStation 5, and a PC version was described as unlikely in the foreseeable future. That is a time-bound assessment of the outlook, not proof that the game will never arrive on PC or Steam and not a permanent Sony policy announcement. PC Gamer’s report
PC Gamer noted that God of War (2018), God of War Ragnarök, and Valhalla had previously reached PC. Those earlier ports do not confirm a PC version of Laufey. Its platform status could change if Sony announces one.
