A GitHub profile README can hold a cyberpunk-style console and a contribution-inspired city, but the city should be presented as an interpretation of GitHub’s activity—not a complete map of coding time. GitHub supports images and GIFs in profile READMEs, and generated SVGs offer one way to create a changing visual. The exact city-building project behind this title is not identified, so the implementation below distinguishes documented platform facts from design choices a builder can make.
What the finished profile is—and is not
A profile README appears at the top of a GitHub profile, where it can introduce the developer and showcase a visual. GitHub Docs describes the contribution graph as “a record of contributions you’ve made to repositories on GitHub.” That makes it a useful source for a city-themed graphic, but not a census of every hour spent coding.
The cyberpunk console is the presentation layer: typography, color, labels, and layout can frame the activity as a fictional city dashboard. The contribution data supplies a limited signal. A skyline or district map is an artistic translation of that signal, not a literal account of a developer’s work.
What GitHub activity can feed the city
GitHub’s profile graph covers the past year and timestamps contributions according to UTC. Which activity appears depends on GitHub’s contribution rules. Creating a repository and forking one always count; commits, issues, pull requests, reviews, and discussions count only in specified circumstances. See GitHub’s contribution graph documentation for the complete criteria.

Commit eligibility matters
For a commit to appear, its author email must be associated with the GitHub account, it must be in a standalone repository and qualifying branch, and the user must meet one of GitHub’s listed repository-relationship conditions. A city generated from the graph inherits those omissions: if an activity does not qualify for the graph, it will not be represented by a visualization based on that graph.
Private activity and visibility
By default, the graph displays public repository activity. The account owner can enable private contributions; viewers who lack repository access see anonymized counts rather than repository details. That can make the displayed city more representative of the account’s contribution count while keeping private project information hidden. GitHub outlines the profile and privacy controls in About your profile.

- INTERCONNECTED CITY CLUSTER: Features side power-sharing ports and bridge interfaces, allowing you to link this tower with other sets to form a massive corporate high-rise complex. One power source can supply up to four buildings simultaneously.
Designing a city from contribution activity
There is no single required mapping from activity to architecture. A builder might treat each day or week as a block, then use contribution count to vary building height, density, or light intensity. Those are design choices, not GitHub-defined meanings. Keep the legend explicit: for example, label a taller structure as “more recorded contributions” rather than implying it measures hours or project importance.
- Choose a time unit: daily or weekly groupings can make activity legible at different scales.
- Choose a visual encoding: height, clusters, or brightness can represent relative counts, provided the legend explains the mapping.
- Preserve missingness: empty periods mean no qualifying graph activity was recorded, not necessarily that no work occurred.
- Design for readability: use contrast and a concise legend so the console remains understandable as an image, not just decorative texture.
Putting the visual in a profile README
GitHub Docs says profile README text can include emoji, images, and GIFs using GitHub Flavored Markdown. A generated SVG can serve as the image; the README can also include a short explanation of what the city encodes and link to the project source. GitHub’s setup and formatting guidance is in Managing your profile README.

- Cyberpunk Expansion Set: Perfectly complements other cyber city collections to help build your ultimate cyberpunk metropolis. This expansion set seamlessly integrates with existing series for enhanced world-building and display possibilities.
One public example, Profile Cards Action, documents a workflow that queries GitHub GraphQL for profile and contribution data, renders SVG cards, and can commit generated files. Its README also describes scheduled Actions workflows and using a <picture> element for light and dark variants. This is an implementation example, not evidence of the particular method used for the city in the title.
Choosing how the graphic updates
The right update method depends on how often the visual needs to change and how much control the builder wants. The available evidence establishes that a workflow-refreshed SVG is possible, but does not establish which method the title’s author chose or the maintenance trade-offs in that project.

| Approach | What it means | What is established |
|---|---|---|
| Static generated image | Generate an image and commit it to the profile repository; update it when desired. | The platform supports images in profile READMEs; no particular generator or refresh schedule is established here. |
| Workflow-refreshed SVG | Run a workflow to fetch data and regenerate an SVG on a schedule. | Profile Cards Action documents this pattern, including scheduled workflows and optional commits; it is an example, not a verified implementation of this city. |
| Hosted renderer | Load a visual from a separate service that generates or serves it. | No specific hosted renderer or service is identified for this project. |
What to verify before publishing
- Confirm that the image is generated from the activity source you intend to show, and describe that source accurately.
- Check the contribution graph’s private-activity setting if you expect private work to affect the display.
- Remember that GitHub uses UTC timestamps and applies eligibility rules; a quiet-looking stretch is not proof that no coding happened.
- Preview the README on the profile itself and make sure the visual’s legend and contrast work at its displayed size.
- If a workflow generates the asset, inspect its permissions, schedule, and commit behavior before relying on automatic updates.
