For most new buyers who want the most playable content in one purchase, the Complete Edition is the broadest bundle listed by PlayStation. Choose Digital Deluxe if you mainly want its cosmetic and early-unlock extras, or the Collector’s Edition if its physical display items matter to you. If you already own the game, compare the Complete Edition Upgrade price with the cost of buying the bundle again in your region.
What’s included in each Ghost of Yōtei edition?
PlayStation’s original edition list covers Standard, Digital Deluxe, and Collector’s Editions. A later Complete Edition adds more game content, so the older three options are not the full current lineup. The table summarizes the contents documented by PlayStation and its official store.

Which edition should you buy?
Choose Standard if you only need the base game
Standard includes the full game. It is the straightforward choice if you do not value the Digital Deluxe cosmetics and early unlock or the Collector’s physical items. Compare its regional price with the other editions before purchasing; the sources cited here do not establish current prices in every region.

Choose Digital Deluxe for digital extras
Digital Deluxe adds cosmetics, a horse and saddle, a sword kit, a charm, and early access to Traveler’s Maps. PlayStation lists a paid upgrade from Standard. Buy it for those extras rather than expecting it to include the later Complete Edition’s additional game content.
Choose Collector’s for the physical items
The Collector’s Edition is the option with clearly itemized physical memorabilia. Its digital items are delivered by voucher code and require an internet connection and PlayStation account to redeem. If buying a resale copy, verify the seller, the physical contents, and whether the code has already been redeemed.

Its official store listing also names an in-game mask and Charm of Amaterasu, alongside the announcement’s Charm of Hokkyokusei. Because listings and availability can vary by territory, confirm the contents on the store page for your region.

Already own Ghost of Yōtei? Compare the upgrade with rebuying
PlayStation’s August 2026 announcement listed the Complete Edition at $69.99 USD and the Complete Edition Upgrade at $14.99 USD. Those are US announcement prices, not a guarantee of today’s price or pricing in another region. Check your local store’s upgrade price and compare it with the cost of buying the Complete Edition there.

The announcement said owners without Digital Deluxe Edition content and Charm of Hokkyokusei would immediately unlock that content when pre-ordering the upgrade. That timing was tied to pre-ordering; do not assume the same delivery terms apply to a later purchase.
PlayStation scheduled Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted for patch v2.0, dated October 1, 2026 globally and October 2 in some territories, including Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. The announcement also said Beauty of Yōtei mode, Watanabe Mode tracks, armor appearance and stat-selection quality-of-life features, and a high-contrast accessibility option would arrive through the patch for existing owners without requiring the upgrade. These patch additions are distinct from the Complete Edition’s bundled content.

The announcement’s Sakai Armor early-unlock offer required a digital purchase by September 30, 2026. That deadline has passed, so it is not a current reason to buy an edition.
