There is no single “real Ghost” among these names. Ghost.ai is identified in its privacy policy as ZMJ, Inc. doing business as Ghost, with a product called Core, a personal AI computer. Ghost.org is the home of open-source publishing software developed by a nonprofit foundation, and Ghost(Pro) is its official hosted service. DrinkGhost.com is the storefront for GHOST Energy drinks. Patrick Swayze is the actor associated with the 1990 film Ghost, not a startup.
What does each “Ghost” refer to?
| Name | What it is | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Ghost.ai | ZMJ, Inc. doing business as Ghost; its October 4, 2026 privacy policy describes Core. | A personal AI computer whose conversational AI and memory run on the user’s hardware. |
| Ghost.org | Ghost Foundation and its open-source publishing software. | Publishing websites and newsletters. |
| Ghost(Pro) | Ghost.org’s official hosted service. | Using Ghost publishing software as a managed service. |
| DrinkGhost.com | The GHOST consumer beverage brand’s official site. | Finding GHOST Energy drinks, which are physical packaged beverages with a changing lineup of flavors and formats. |
| Patrick Swayze | The actor referenced through the film Ghost (1990). | A cultural reference, not a company or product. |
The domains and official business pages establish separate identities. A shared name alone does not show that Ghost.ai, Ghost.org, and DrinkGhost.com have common ownership or a corporate connection.
Is Ghost.org a startup, and how does it fund its work?
Ghost.org is an open-source publishing project run by the Ghost Foundation, which describes itself as a nonprofit building open-source technology for modern publishing. Its about page says it was founded in April 2013 by John O’Nolan and Hannah Wolfe. The foundation funds development through its paid managed service, Ghost(Pro), rather than being the energy-drink business or the AI-computer company.
Ghost reports more than 100,000,000 installs to date on its about page. That is a live, self-reported figure displayed when the page was accessed on October 7, 2026, not a dated annual study. In its Ghost 6.0 announcement, the foundation reported more than $100 million in total publisher earnings on Ghost and annual Ghost revenue above $8.5 million at the time of publication. Those are company-reported figures framed to that announcement, not current audited totals.

What is the difference between Ghost and Ghost(Pro)?
Ghost is the publishing software; Ghost(Pro) is the official hosted service for that software. Ghost’s March 6, 2014 announcement, “Introducing Ghost(Pro),” put the distinction this way: “Ghost = The software. (Pro) = The official hosted service.” Someone looking to publish can therefore either explore the software itself or use the foundation’s managed hosting service.
What is Ghost.ai’s Core?
Ghost.ai’s October 4, 2026 privacy policy identifies ZMJ, Inc. as doing business as Ghost and describes Core as a personal AI computer. The policy says its conversational AI and memory run on the user’s hardware. It does not establish current retail availability, a price, or any corporate relationship with Ghost Foundation or the GHOST beverage brand.

Is DrinkGhost.com connected to Ghost publishing?
No connection is established by the official pages cited here. DrinkGhost.com presents GHOST Energy as a packaged beverage brand; Ghost.org describes an open-source publishing project and its nonprofit foundation. If a reader means the energy drink, the relevant site is DrinkGhost.com; if they mean publishing software, it is Ghost.org.
Why is Patrick Swayze in the comparison?
Patrick Swayze is included as the actor associated with the 1990 film Ghost, not as a startup. The available evidence for this identification is limited to search results rather than an authoritative studio or archival source, so the film reference should not be read as evidence about any of the businesses.
