To get all eight Rarecrows in Stardew Valley, visit festival stalls, the Casino, the Traveling Cart or Festival of Ice, the Dwarf, and the Museum. Collecting the full set unlocks a letter—usually the next day—with the Deluxe Scarecrow crafting recipe.
Where to find all 8 Rarecrows
Use this checklist to track each item. Prices and donation milestones below are the in-game requirements listed by the Stardew Valley Wiki; the wiki page does not specify a game version.

- Rarecrow #1 — Stardew Valley Fair: Buy it for 800 Star Tokens.
- Rarecrow #2 — Spirit’s Eve: Buy it at the festival for 5,000g.
- Rarecrow #3 — Casino: Buy it for 10,000 Qi coins.
- Rarecrow #4 — Traveling Cart or Festival of Ice: Check the Traveling Cart in Fall or Winter; it may randomly stock the Rarecrow for 4,000g. If it does not appear, buy it at the Festival of Ice for 5,000g.
- Rarecrow #5 — Flower Dance: Buy it for 2,500g.
- Rarecrow #6 — Dwarf: Buy it from the Dwarf for 2,500g.
- Rarecrow #7 — Museum artifacts: Donate 20 artifacts to the Museum. Minerals do not count toward this milestone.
- Rarecrow #8 — Museum items: Donate 40 items to the Museum.
How to get Rarecrow #4 if the Traveling Cart does not have it
The Traveling Cart route is not dependable because its stock is random. The Festival of Ice is the documented fallback: its shop sells Rarecrow #4 for 5,000g. The Cart price is 4,000g, so the festival route costs 1,000g more, but it avoids waiting for a random appearance.

How to get the Rarecrows from the Museum
Rarecrows #7 and #8 come from separate donation milestones. For #7, the Museum must receive 20 artifacts; minerals are excluded. For #8, the requirement is 40 donated items. Once you have earned each Rarecrow, you can also buy another copy at the Night Market, according to the wiki’s Scarecrow entry.

What collecting all eight unlocks
After you collect all eight Rarecrows, a letter arrives soon afterward—usually the next day—with the Deluxe Scarecrow recipe. The timing is described as usual, not guaranteed for the following day.

Rarecrows function like regular Scarecrows. The exception noted by the wiki is the Alien Rarecrow, which can wear hats. An older Steam Community guide identifies the Alien design as Rarecrow #3 and lists the designs as Turnip Head, Witch, Alien, Snowman, Female Scarecrow, Dwarf, Raccoon, and Tiki Mask. That guide was updated January 15, 2022, and Steam now marks it removed from the community, so use the current wiki for acquisition details.
