To use an existing Genshin Impact save on a phone or tablet, sign in with the same HoYoverse account and choose the same server as the device holding your progress. First confirm the account and login method on that device; creating or using a different login can make your save appear missing.
Before linking, identify the account with your progress
- On the device where the correct save is visible, open Genshin Impact and go to Settings > Account > User Center.
- Check which HoYoverse account or linked login method is in use. Make sure you can access its credentials before signing out.
- If needed, link an email and set a password in User Center so you can sign in with those credentials on mobile.
HoYoverse says game progress is tied to a specific account, identified through an email, social login, or in-game UID. Its cross-save guide supports synchronization across PC, iOS, Android, PlayStation, and Xbox: How to synchronize game data across platforms.
Sign in on your mobile device
- Install and open Genshin Impact on your iOS or Android device.
- Choose the same HoYoverse account credentials or linked third-party login used on the device with your save. Do not assume that entering the same email address through a different sign-in option selects the same account.
- Select the same game server as your existing progress. Once the account and server match, your progress should load.

Check the login method if the save is missing
Different sign-in methods can lead to different accounts, even when they use the same email address. HoYoverse specifically distinguishes Google third-party sign-in from standard email-and-password login, and Apple ID from Game Center. Confirm the method that holds the save on your original device, then use that same method on mobile.

HoYoverse’s device-change guidance also notes platform-specific access limits: Apple- or Game Center-linked accounts may be accessible only on iOS devices or through the Account Center, while Google third-party login accounts created on Android may not be accessible on iOS or through the Account Center. Available options can depend on the account; consult HoYoverse’s device-change troubleshooting or contact support if the usual sign-in does not work.
If your Genshin account started on PlayStation
On PlayStation, open Genshin Impact and go to Settings > Account > User Center. Follow the prompts to link an email and set a password, then use that email and password to sign in on your phone. HoYoverse’s current steps are in its PlayStation linking guide.

PlayStation saves have an additional server consideration: HoYoverse says the server is determined by the region of the PSN account. Its Genshin-specific cross-save notice also describes eligibility restrictions, including a conflict where a PSN game account already in use cannot be linked to an email associated with a different HoYoverse account. What to do if mobile still shows a new or empty save
- On the device that has the desired progress, revisit Settings > Account > User Center and verify the account or login method.
- On mobile, sign out if necessary and use that exact account and method; a different Google, Apple, Game Center, or email/password route may open another account.
- Check the selected server against the server used by the existing save. For a PlayStation-origin save, account region affects the server.
- If the account and server are correct but progress remains unavailable, contact HoYoverse support through its progress troubleshooting page.
