Build Durin around the job you want him to do: use Light mode for team support and reaction-linked resistance reduction, or Dark mode to emphasize his own Vaporize and Melt damage. A flexible starting build is A Day Carved From Rising Winds with ATK% sands, a Pyro DMG or ATK% goblet, and a Crit circlet; tune Energy Recharge to the team rather than chasing one fixed target.
What is Durin’s best build?
Mobalytics’ Durin build guide, updated July 19, 2026, recommends the five-star Pyro sword character as an off-field sub-DPS/support using A Day Carved From Rising Winds. Treat this as guide-based build advice, not a ranking from independent hands-on testing. The most useful choices depend on whether Durin is supporting the team in Light mode or dealing more of his own damage in Dark mode.

Choose by the weakness your build needs to solve: energy consistency, offensive stats, or what your account already has available. A weapon labeled best-in-slot is not automatically best for every rotation or roster.
Should you use Light mode or Dark mode?
Choose Light mode for team support
Mobalytics describes Light mode as Durin’s support route. Its Burst can reduce enemy resistance when specified Pyro reactions occur, and the resistance affected depends on the elements involved. This makes Light mode a natural fit when Durin’s contribution to the team matters more than maximizing his personal reaction damage.
Choose Dark mode for Durin’s reaction damage
Dark mode focuses more on Durin’s own Vaporize and Melt damage. That narrows the team plan toward reliable Hydro or Cryo application so his attacks can trigger those reactions. If the intended team cannot support that reaction pattern, Light mode may provide a more useful role.
Which talents should you level first?
Mobalytics’ recommended priority is Burst, then Skill, then Normal Attack. The guide attributes most of Durin’s damage and value to his Burst and notes that leveling his Skill improves its energy contribution. Follow that order as a general investment guide, while considering your team’s energy needs before spending resources on lower-priority Normal Attack levels.

What teams work with Durin?
Durin can fit several reaction and damage archetypes; there is no single best team independent of roster, enemies, build, and investment. Icy Veins’ team guide, reviewed for version 6.7 on August 6, 2026, covers Overload, Melt, Geo, Pyro Swirl, and Mono-Pyro options, and identifies Nicole as a strong partner. Its guide also notes that Hexerei bonuses are not required for a team to function.

How should you start a Durin rotation?
Mobalytics’ example Varka lineup begins with Durin’s Skill twice and then his Burst before the supports and Varka take the field. That gives a concrete starting sequence for that example team, but it should not be treated as a rotation for every Durin composition: different teams and modes change when support effects and reactions need to occur.
