Yes—if your priority is long battery life and strong everyday CPU performance, the GEEKOM GeekBook M16 is one of the more compelling large-screen Windows laptops below $900. Its Core Ultra 9 processor, 99.9Wh battery, sturdy metal chassis and 16:10 display make it an excellent office, coding and study machine. The compromises are substantial but clear: it weighs 1.73kg (3.8lb), has only 16GB of soldered memory, a merely 300-cd/m² screen, a clunky touchpad and integrated graphics that are unsuitable for demanding 3D work.

A rare 99.9Wh battery in this class
The battery is the M16’s defining feature. ITPro measured 24 hours 13 minutes in a controlled video-loop test in 2026. That result was nearly five hours longer than the contemporary MacBook Pro and nearly seven hours longer than an Asus Zenbook A16 in ITPro’s test. Video playback is a repeatable comparison, not a promise of 24 hours while compiling code, running meetings, gaming or using maximum brightness. CPU-heavy work will reduce endurance substantially.

High-end-for-the-price processor
The Core Ultra 9 185H supplies 16 cores and 22 threads, with a maximum clock of 5.1GHz. Notebookcheck recorded a 54W sustained power limit and 60W short-burst limit. It delivers smooth application use and strong multi-core performance for development environments, office suites, virtual machines and media work. Notebookcheck found its results slightly below the average of other 185H systems, but sustained-load behavior remained consistent.

Solid construction without flex
Notebookcheck describes the aluminum chassis as high quality and sturdy, with narrow bezels. TechRadar found a single-piece magnesium-alloy body with no flex in the lid or keyboard deck. The trade-off is portability: 1.73kg is heavy for a thin 16-inch machine, especially when carried one-handed or alongside its charger.
Display, keyboard and touchpad
Productivity-focused 16:10 panel
The 1,920×1,200 IPS panel provides extra vertical space for code, documents and spreadsheets compared with a conventional 16:9 screen. Its 60Hz refresh rate is adequate for work but not a gaming-focused specification. Notebookcheck found the approximately 300-cd/m² manufacturer claim nearly accurate, no PWM flicker, and good color after calibration. Outdoor visibility is the main weakness; bright rooms and direct sunlight expose the limited luminance. Color-critical creators should use a calibrated external display.

Comfortable keyboard, compromised pointing device
ITPro characterizes the keyboard as light but crisp and notes full-size arrow keys and a numeric keypad. It also observed some flex around the center. TechRadar’s principal usability criticism is the touchpad, which feels clunky compared with leading premium laptops. Port labels do not clearly identify their speeds, so users may need to consult the manual when selecting a USB-C connector for a high-bandwidth accessory.

Performance for work, coding and creative tasks
What the integrated Arc GPU can do
The integrated eight-core Intel Arc graphics are appropriate for video playback, acceleration in creative applications and occasional gaming at sensible settings. TechRadar recorded 18,030 in 3DMark Wild Life and 7,177 in Fire Strike, with performance behind newer Arc 140V graphics. This is not a replacement for a laptop with a discrete GPU: demanding modern games, 3D rendering and GPU compute workloads require lower settings or another class of machine.
Thermals and noise
Notebookcheck measured maximum noise of about 42 dB(A) and described the cooling system as comparatively quiet under load. That makes the M16 suitable for shared offices, classrooms and calls where fan noise matters. The processor’s sustained performance is consistent rather than designed for the highest possible short benchmark burst.

Memory is fixed
The 16GB LPDDR5-6400 is soldered to the motherboard. You cannot replace it or expand it later. It is sufficient for office work, coding and ordinary creative applications today, but users planning large virtual machines, data science workloads or long-term workstation use should consider a laptop that offers 32GB or replaceable memory.

The installed 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD leaves limited headroom after Windows and applications, but the chassis includes an empty M.2 2230 PCIe 4.0 slot. A compatible short-form NVMe drive can add capacity without replacing the original disk. Confirm the drive’s 2230 dimensions, single- or double-sided clearance, thermal requirements and warranty implications before installation. Notebookcheck observed sustained-transfer-rate drops on the installed Kingston drive, so capacity expansion does not automatically solve every storage-performance concern.

The M16 provides one USB4 port rated up to 40Gbps, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port, two USB-A ports, HDMI and a 3.5mm headset jack. USB4 enables a dock and high-speed storage, while Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 cover modern wireless peripherals. Because the chassis does not clearly label port speeds, check the specification when connecting displays, docks or fast SSDs. The included dock is a convenience, not a substitute for confirming the exact display and Ethernet capabilities you need.
