Gears of War: E-Day has rechargeable campaign Tactical Gear, but the official material available here does not publish a complete item list. Xbox Wire names health injectors and throwables that stun enemies; it does not confirm every item, cooldown, or unlock condition. Other documented equipment systems include supply caches, weapons, grenades, and Heavy Weapons. Multiplayer has separate class-based equipment and mod rules.
What campaign Tactical Gear is confirmed?
Xbox Wire’s August 25, 2026 campaign preview describes Tactical Gear as “rechargeable items that can be deployed in battle, like health injectors and throwables to stun enemies.” That confirms a recharge-and-deploy system, with examples that support recovery and enemy control. It does not establish a complete roster or name the individual items.
The preview does not state the number of charges, recharge time, exact effects, rarity tiers, or campaign unlock requirements. Nor does it confirm that campaign Tactical Gear follows the class equipment and mod rules used in multiplayer.
How do campaign supply caches and weapon mods work?
In the same campaign demo account, Xbox Wire reports that supply caches around Kalona can refill ammunition, change the player’s loadout, and equip weapon mods. The preview gives damage buffs and reloads triggered by chainsaw kills as examples of mod effects. It describes features demonstrated in the preview, not a guarantee that every cache offers every option.

These cache functions give players a chance to adapt ammunition, weapon selection, and weapon modifications as a mission develops. The preview does not list every cache option or explain a universal campaign mod-unlock system.
Which campaign weapons and battlefield tools are described?
Xbox Wire’s October 6, 2026 launch guide calls E-Day weapons “deeply situational.” Its descriptions establish broad roles rather than measured performance:

The Heavy Boomshot’s category affects movement: The Coalition says carrying a Heavy slows the player, although most movement remains possible. Heavy Weapons can also be pulled from turret bases; the gameplay update specifically presents this as a way to acquire them in Horde Siege.

How does multiplayer equipment differ from campaign gear?
The Coalition’s multiplayer overview describes a class-based progression system. Completing missions earns Class XP, and each class has 30 levels at launch. Progression unlocks loadout weapons and equipment, Armor Mods, Tactical Gear Mods, and unique Weapon Mods. These are multiplayer rules and should not be assumed to describe campaign equipment.

Class progression and mods
- Armor Mods: Can change health, ammunition reserves, or weapon-swap speed, and can add benefits such as gaining Perfect Active ammunition from executions.
- Tactical Gear Mods: Can reduce cooldowns, increase range, or add effects. The overview does not give a complete mod list here.
- Weapon Mods: Can make tactical adjustments or change a weapon’s functionality; the Coalition gives a bayonet attached to a Gnasher as an example.
Unlocking a Weapon Mod on a class progression track is not the same as equipping it: each mod must also be purchased with Weapon Parts. Players earn some Weapon Parts through class progression. The Coalition says extracting with parts from Horde Siege missions is the best way to earn and unlock more; mission parts are kept only after successful extraction and completion.
Horde Siege and Versus rules
Weapon customization is shared across classes in Horde Siege. Versus is a separate 4v4 mode: players begin with the same loadout weapons and equipment, and weapon mods are absent. The Coalition says success at higher difficulties depends on combining Armor Mods, Tactical Gear Mods, and Weapon Mods, but does not identify a universally best combination.
Are collectibles equipment?
No. Xbox Wire’s launch guide describes COG armor, tags, and objects such as a can of soup as collectibles with lore entries. It does not identify these objects as deployable or usable combat gear. The COG tags included in the announced Collector’s Edition are physical replica memorabilia, not the in-game collectibles.
The Xbox Wire Collector’s Edition announcement describes a 15-inch Marcus and Dom statue, replica COG tags, a replica in-game photograph, and a Feral Wretch art print. It says the Xbox Series X edition includes the Premium Edition on disc; quantities are limited and regional availability varies, so current stock should be checked with a retailer.

What remains undisclosed?
The official material cited here does not provide a complete campaign Tactical Gear inventory, precise campaign recharge times, a complete campaign weapon roster, numerical weapon performance, or universal equipment unlock requirements. Those details should not be inferred from examples in a campaign preview or from multiplayer class progression.
Xbox’s product page lists The Coalition as developer, Xbox Game Studios as publisher, October 6, 2026 as the release date, and Xbox Series X|S and Windows 10/11 among the platforms. Xbox Wire’s launch guide also lists Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Game Pass, and Steam.
