Garmin CIRQA is worth the extra $100 if you will use its training features or connect it to compatible Garmin gear; Fitbit Air is the better fit if you want a lighter band at a lower price for everyday tracking. In the US, Garmin lists CIRQA at $199.99 and Google lists Fitbit Air from $99.99. Neither price alone makes one the better value: the choice depends on which features matter to you.

How the two bands compare

Factor Garmin CIRQA Fitbit Air
US list price $199.99, listed by Garmin in 2026 From $99.99, listed by Google in 2026
Battery life Up to 10 days, according to Garmin; actual life varies with use Up to 7 days, according to Google; the company recommends charging every few days to maintain tracking
Weight 14.8 g module; 20.7 g with S–M band or 21.2 g with L–XL band 12 g with band; 5.2 g without band
GPS Connected GPS using a compatible smartphone The cited specifications do not establish standalone GPS
Notable features More than 80 activity profiles, Body Battery, training readiness, and heart-rate broadcasting to compatible Garmin devices Heart-rate, accelerometer/gyroscope, oxygen-saturation, and device-temperature sensors

Prices and feature availability can vary by region and change over time. Check the Garmin CIRQA product page and Google’s Fitbit Air specifications for current terms.

What the extra $100 gets you

Garmin training tools and device integration

CIRQA’s clearest advantage is its documented training and Garmin ecosystem features: more than 80 activity profiles, Body Battery, training readiness, and the ability to broadcast heart rate to compatible Garmin devices. If you already use a compatible Garmin watch or Edge computer, that integration may make the band more useful than its standalone price comparison suggests. Garmin describes core tracking as subscription-free. Some additional capabilities, including certain coaching and AI features, are optional Connect+ features; check Garmin’s current product terms for what is included.

Fitbit’s simpler value proposition

Fitbit Air costs half as much at the cited US list prices and weighs less. Its official specifications list several sensors, but sensor presence by itself does not establish that it measures a particular metric more accurately than CIRQA. For a buyer who mainly wants a small, lower-cost band for everyday tracking, that may be enough reason to choose it.

Which one is more comfortable to wear?

Fitbit Air has the lower official weight: 12 g with its band, compared with 20.7 g for CIRQA in S–M or 21.2 g in L–XL. Tom’s Guide also describes Fitbit Air as smaller and lighter, while noting CIRQA’s physical button and optional arm-wearing design. Those are reviewer observations, not controlled comfort findings; fit depends on your wrist, preferred placement, and tolerance for a band during sleep or exercise. Both devices are reported as water-resistant to 50 m by Tom’s Guide.

Battery life and charging

The manufacturers’ stated maximums favor CIRQA: up to 10 days versus up to 7 days for Fitbit Air. These are product claims, not guarantees for every user; actual battery life depends on use. Google recommends charging Fitbit Air every few days to maintain tracking, so do not interpret its “up to” figure as a reason to leave it uncharged indefinitely.

What the available step-count test shows—and does not show

In one Tom’s Guide test, reviewer Dan Bracaglia manually counted 7,000 steps during a one-hour walk in Seattle. Fitbit Air recorded 6,990 steps and CIRQA recorded 7,070. This is a single walk, not a general accuracy ranking.

The test also illustrates why the recorded activity and metric matter: the reviewer said CIRQA logged the walk as a generic workout and did not provide distance, climb, or pace, while Fitbit’s climb result was far off. The account is specific to that test; it cannot establish how either band performs across other workouts or conditions. Read the full Tom’s Guide test for its setup and observations.

Which tracker should you buy?

Choose Garmin CIRQA if

  • You already use compatible Garmin devices and will use heart-rate broadcasting or Garmin Connect integration.
  • You want its documented training features, such as activity profiles, Body Battery, or training readiness.
  • You prefer the longer manufacturer-stated maximum battery life and are willing to pay more for the features you expect to use.

Choose Fitbit Air if

  • Your priority is a lower upfront price and a lighter band.
  • You want everyday tracking without paying extra for Garmin-specific training tools or device integration.
  • You are comfortable setting it up and using it with the Google Health app on a compatible phone.

Neither band should be treated as an all-purpose winner on the basis of one step-count test or the number of sensors listed. Decide based on the features, phone requirements, fit, and charging routine you will actually use.
