Dicey Dungeons is the clearest next stop when your favorite part of Dicevaders is making a roll do something specific. In its turn-based roguelike encounters, dice are used to activate equipment. Why equipment activation feels different
Dicey Dungeons turns every item into a small puzzle. A result that is awkward for one item may be ideal for another, so a strong loadout gives you several useful ways to spend the same roll. Dungeon progression is equipment-driven, and the game includes six fighters whose abilities and available choices create different run patterns. Your strategy is therefore concentrated in the items you keep, replace, and combine rather than in the physical arrangement of a board.
If you enjoy comparing a new item against an existing slot, planning around requirements, and finding a way to use an imperfect roll, this is the most direct recommendation. It preserves the feeling that dice are actions waiting to be unlocked without reproducing Dicevaders’ column scoring.

Choose Dicey Dungeons when you want decisions to resolve at the character level. A build that gives several columns meaningful scoring potential can tolerate more variance and leave resources available for a later crisis. How to compare any other dice-based roguelike
When you investigate another title, use the following questions instead of relying on the word “dice” in its store description:
- What does a die activate? Is it a weapon, a spell, a unit, a board location, a target, or a scoring category?
- How much control follows a bad roll? Look for rerolls, value shifts, extra dice, locked results, or build effects that make several values useful.
- Where does the run’s strategy accumulate? It may live in a tactical board, equipment combinations, party composition, cards, or passive synergies.
