Choose a tracker by how your library gets maintained. If you want a free, social game diary, Backloggd is the simplest fit. If you need shelves, custom lists, CSV export, and a documented daily Steam import, Grouvee is more flexible. If you primarily use an iPhone and want automatic PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam imports, Backloggr is the most targeted option. Gamepouch is better suited to combining several PC stores and consoles and comparing ownership with friends. GG and SavePoint are worth checking when a native mobile app is non-negotiable, but their current features and tiers should be confirmed in the relevant app stores.
The important distinction is not a universal “best” app. It is whether you will enter games manually, import connected accounts, or use both; whether your social activity means following people, reading reviews, or finding games you both own; and whether a mobile-optimized website is sufficient or you require a native app.
Start with the decision that determines everything else
A backlog tracker is only useful if its upkeep matches your habits. Before moving hundreds of games into a new account, decide which of these maintenance patterns describes you:

- Automatic importing: You want connected Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, or storefront accounts to populate a library with minimal data entry.
- Hybrid tracking: You import supported accounts, then manually add physical games, indie releases, or anything an integration misses.
Imports are not interchangeable. Grouvee documents a once-a-day Steam import that requires a publicly viewable Steam profile and warns that some games may not map to the correct Grouvee entry. Backloggr advertises automatic imports from Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox plus manual additions for other games. Gamepouch lists a wider collection of storefront connectors, but each provider describes its own support and does not establish that every connector works for every region or account type.

Make a short test list before committing: one recently released game, one older title, a physical game, and a title owned on more than one service. Confirm how each appears, whether duplicates merge, and which fields are editable. This prevents an attractive import promise from becoming a badly mapped library.

Backloggd: best for a free web-based social diary
What you can do
Backloggd presents itself as a personal video-game collection tracker. You can log games, maintain a backlog, record games you are playing, rate and review titles, follow friends, and filter your collection. Its social model is centered on activity and opinion: the official FAQ and product pages describe following users and seeing their marked-finished activity, while friend-specific review and rating sections help you see what people you follow think of a game.
Where it fits
Choose Backloggd when writing about games and comparing opinions matters more than automatic account synchronization. It is a strong match for someone who wants a public or semi-public diary of completed games, ratings, reviews, and a personal backlog that can be browsed from a phone browser.
Important limitations
Backloggd’s official FAQ states: “There is no cost! Browsing the site is free, creating an account is free, and all current features are completely free!” That is the service’s own statement, not an independent price audit. The same official material says there is no native mobile app at present, although the mobile website is optimized for small screens. A responsive website can work well, but it does not provide the offline behavior, app-store updates, or notification model of a native app. The supplied material also does not verify a full automatic-import feature, so do not assume your Steam, PlayStation, or Xbox library will populate itself.
Grouvee: best for shelves, lists, and a documented Steam import
Built-in and custom organization
Grouvee gives every account four built-in shelves: Playing, Played, Backlog, and Wish List. You can add custom shelves and create personal or community lists. That combination is useful when a single backlog is too broad—for example, you might keep “short games,” “co-op next,” and “replay someday” as separate shelves while retaining the built-in status categories.

The service also advertises ratings, reviews, playtime tracking, and friends. This makes it possible to record not only whether a game is finished, but how long it took and what you thought of it.

How the Steam import works
- Set your Steam profile to publicly viewable; Grouvee says this visibility is required for importing.
- Connect or authorize the Steam account through Grouvee’s import flow.
- Allow the service to perform its scheduled synchronization. The help page documents imports once every day, not instant updates.
- Review the resulting entries and correct any mapping errors. Grouvee cautions that some Steam games may not yet map to the correct Grouvee record.
The daily schedule means a game bought today may not appear until the next import cycle. Mapping problems are a separate issue: an import can run successfully while still selecting the wrong database entry, so inspect unusual editions, bundles, demos, and games with similar names.
Export and price boundary
Grouvee’s help page includes a CSV export option, which is useful if you want a backup or plan to move your data later. The same page says Grouvee Gold starts at $10 per year. Treat that as a current-page claim and recheck the price, renewal terms, and which features are included before subscribing.

Automatic imports and manual additions
Backloggr’s official product page markets an iOS game tracker that automatically imports from PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam. It also supports manual entry for physical games, indie releases, and anything outside those integrations. That hybrid approach is practical for a player whose digital accounts contain most of the library but whose collection includes discs, cartridges, or small PC releases.
Statistics and achievement history
The service advertises collection, completion, backlog-depth, and hours-played statistics. It also describes a unified view of Steam achievements, PlayStation trophies, and Xbox Gamerscore, plus discovery tools. These are vendor claims; the supplied material does not independently test whether every achievement source, title, or account region is supported.

Backloggr says tracking starts at €0 and that optional Pro adds deeper analytics and full achievement history. “Starts at €0” does not mean every advertised statistic or historical record is in the free tier. Check the current in-app feature comparison, account permissions, and subscription screen before importing a large library.

Gamepouch: broad library aggregation and friend overlap
Connectors and status model
Gamepouch’s support material says it can combine Steam, Epic, GOG, Xbox, PlayStation, itch.io, and Humble libraries. It lists four statuses—Playing, Up Next, Dropped, and Completed—and advertises unified Steam and Xbox achievements.
Finding games you both own
Its distinguishing social feature is friend-library comparison: you can compare collections to find games that both people own. This answers a practical question that ordinary review feeds do not: which co-op or discussion candidate is already available to both of you? Gamepouch also advertises price comparison.
Check connector fit first
Because support depends on the reader’s region and account type, verify each connector before relying on it. Confirm whether a platform needs a particular account privacy setting, whether owned DLC and bundles are represented correctly, and whether duplicate copies merge. The supplied material does not establish Gamepouch’s current native-app support or pricing.
GG and SavePoint: mobile options that need current verification
A 2026 secondary roundup describes GG as a mobile-first tracker for iPhone and Android that connects several storefronts and consoles, with some features behind optional Pro. It describes SavePoint as offering native iPhone and Android apps as well as a web app, and identifies imports as a strength. These descriptions are useful for creating a shortlist, not for making a definitive recommendation. App-store availability, supported connectors, subscription boundaries, and account permissions can change. Open the current iOS or Android listing, read the version notes, and verify that the specific console or storefront accounts you use are supported before signing up.

If you mainly read and write reviews
Start with Backloggd. Its documented follows, finished-activity feed, ratings, and reviews are designed around seeing what other players completed and thought about it. Grouvee is another fit when you want friends’ reviews and shelves alongside more structured collection management.
If you want to discover games you already share
Gamepouch’s friend-library comparison is the most directly aligned feature in the supplied descriptions. It is intended to surface titles both people own, which can reduce the friction of choosing a game for a shared session. Confirm that the relevant store connectors work before treating the comparison as complete.
If your friends use different platforms
Prioritize the service whose integrations match your group, not the one with the longest feature list. Backloggr names Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox; Gamepouch names those plus Epic, GOG, itch.io, and Humble; Grouvee’s documented import is Steam. A friend feed is less useful if half the group’s libraries never enter the system.

- Mobile-optimized website: opens in a browser and adapts its layout to a small screen, but is still a website.
- Web-only or desktop-oriented service: usable in a browser, with no documented mobile-specific experience.
Backloggd explicitly says it has no native mobile app while optimizing its website for mobile screens. Backloggr is marketed as an iOS app. The 2026 roundup describes GG as mobile-first on iPhone and Android and SavePoint as having native apps plus a web app. Verify current app-store availability rather than assuming a roundup remains current.

A setup checklist that avoids a messy backlog
- Define your source of truth. Decide whether the tracker will hold every owned game, only games you intend to play, or a combination of owned, wanted, and completed titles.
- Check account prerequisites. For Grouvee, make the Steam profile publicly viewable. For any other connector, read the current authorization and privacy requirements first.
- Import one account or a small sample. Do not connect every service until you know how duplicates, bundles, demos, DLC, and regional editions are represented.
- Choose statuses that reflect decisions. Separate “up next” from an unbounded backlog, and use “dropped” when you want an honest record without leaving an unfinished game marked as active.
- Add missing physical and indie games manually. Hybrid trackers are only as complete as the titles their integrations cannot identify.
- Review social visibility. Decide which reviews, ratings, finished activity, and shelves friends should see before publishing personal notes.
- Export when the service supports it. Grouvee documents CSV export. Keep a copy before a major reorganization or subscription change.
Common failure modes and fixes
“My game did not import.”
Check the documented sync cadence first. Grouvee’s Steam import is once daily, so an immediate absence is not necessarily an error. Then confirm profile visibility, account authorization, and whether the title is a supported database entry. For services with less-detailed documentation, consult the current connector list rather than assuming every storefront is covered.
“The wrong game or edition appeared.”
Search for the exact platform, edition, and release year and replace the mapped entry manually if the service allows it. Grouvee specifically warns that some Steam games may not map correctly, so inspect imported records instead of accepting every match.
“My phone experience is not what I expected.”
Check whether you installed a native app or are using a mobile website. Backloggd’s mobile optimization does not change its stated lack of a native app. For GG, SavePoint, and Backloggr, confirm the current operating-system listing and supported version.

Secondary roundups can describe optional Pro features or a paid synchronization tier without showing the exact boundary. Compare the current plan screen with the provider’s feature list before moving your entire library.
Which one should you choose?
Pick Backloggd for free, web-based logging with a strong follow-and-review loop. Pick Grouvee for the clearest combination of built-in shelves, custom organization, community lists, CSV export, and a documented daily Steam import. Pick Backloggr when an iPhone app and automatic Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox imports are your first requirements. Pick Gamepouch when multiple storefronts and friend-owned-library overlap matter most. Investigate GG or SavePoint when native Android or iPhone access outweighs the need for a fully verified feature comparison.
No option documented here proves complete, instant imports, universal platform coverage, superior privacy, or the largest community. Make the final choice after checking the current app or plan page, testing a few representative games, and confirming that the social and device model matches how you actually maintain a backlog.
