Possibly—but it is not confirmed. A Chinese regulatory filing reportedly lists Ultra-Wideband (UWB) for the rumored Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra while omitting it from the Galaxy S27+, which would break Samsung’s reported run of including UWB in every Plus model since the Galaxy S21+. Regional hardware and the final specification sheet could still change the outcome.
What the reported filing says
An October 15, 2026 report from iDevice, citing SammyGuru, examined Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) listings for four rumored Galaxy S27 models. The filings identify cellular, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth hardware, but the report says UWB appears only on the Pro and Ultra entries.
| Rumored model | Model number in the filing | UWB mentioned? |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S27 Ultra | SM-S9580 | Yes, according to the report |
| Galaxy S27 Pro | SM-S9570 | Yes, according to the report |
| Galaxy S27+ | SM-S9560 | No mention in the reported filing |
| Galaxy S27 | SM-S9520 | No mention in the reported filing |
A missing radio in a regulatory document is not the same as a confirmed omission from the retail phone. The filing may represent Chinese variants only, and regulatory paperwork does not always expose every consumer-facing component. Samsung has not announced the S27+ specification.

The same October report says Samsung has included UWB in every Plus phone since the Galaxy S21+. If the S27+ genuinely ships without it, the change would be a feature regression within the Plus line rather than a routine model-number adjustment.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What UWB does on a Galaxy phone
Ultra-Wideband measures distance and direction more precisely than Bluetooth. Samsung’s Galaxy phones use the radio for nearby-device and accessory finding, including Galaxy SmartTags. That precision is most relevant when a tracker is attached to keys, luggage or a bag and you need directional guidance instead of only an approximate location.
What the S27+ question means for SmartTag owners
Compatibility with SmartTag2 and similar accessories depends on the S27+ hardware and the region in which the phone is sold. If a regional S27+ lacks UWB, the phone may not provide the same precise-finding experience as a UWB-equipped Galaxy model. The final Samsung specification sheet must establish which finding functions are supported; the current filing does not settle that question.

How strong is the evidence?
The MIIT listing is an early, regional signal
MIIT filings are regulatory records, not Samsung’s launch specifications. The report itself cautions that the S27+ could still contain UWB and that the omission might be limited to Chinese models. International versions could use a different component configuration, or Samsung could update the documentation before release.

Earlier expectations pointed the other way
A May 20, 2026 pre-release roundup from SamMobile listed UWB among the expected S27+ hardware features. It described the phone as unreleased and tentatively expected the S27 family in January or February 2027. That prediction conflicts with the later MIIT-based report, so neither source should be treated as a final specification.

Other S27+ rumors show why the list is still fluid
Separate reports describe additional differences between the Plus and higher-tier models, but they do not confirm the UWB claim.
| Feature | Rumored S27/S27+ position | Rumored Pro/Ultra position | Evidence status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Front camera | 12MP, continuing the sensor used since the S23 generation | 16MP | Android Authority, October 14, 2026, citing an unconfirmed Galaxy Club claim |
| Main camera | A Sony 50MP sensor was reportedly being tested | Not stated | Android Central, July 24, 2026; testing was not final |
| Battery technology | Silicon-carbon battery technology was reportedly being tested | Not stated | Android Central, July 24, 2026; not finalized |
| UWB | Absent from the reported Chinese MIIT mention | Present in the reported filing | iDevice report, October 15, 2026; regional and documentation limits apply |
These camera and battery reports illustrate that the S27+ hardware plan is still moving. They should not be used as confirmation that Samsung is deliberately removing UWB.

Galaxy S27+ versus the rumored S27 Pro
If precise accessory finding is important, the Pro is the safer rumor-level choice because UWB is listed for it in the reported Chinese filing. Every other comparison point remains unsettled.

The camera distinction is also rumor-level: Android Authority noted that the Galaxy Club claim did not identify a source. A higher model designation therefore does not guarantee a particular camera or charging specification until Samsung publishes official details.

Should you buy the S27+ or wait for the Pro?
Wait if UWB is essential
Users who rely on precise finding for SmartTags should wait for Samsung’s regional specification sheets. The reported omission is serious enough to justify delaying a purchase, but not strong enough to prove that the S27+ will lack the radio.
Consider the S27+ only after checking the regional sheet
When the phone launches, verify the exact model number and the connectivity section for “Ultra-Wideband” rather than assuming that every Plus model matches earlier generations. Check the same information for the country where you will buy and use the device.
When will the answer be known?
Samsung is expected to reveal the Galaxy S27 family in early 2027, with January or February cited as a tentative window in the May 20, 2026 SamMobile roundup. The launch announcement and regional specification pages should resolve whether the S27+ has UWB, whether Chinese and international versions differ, and which SmartTag finding features are supported.
