The Galaxy S24+ is the better fit if you want a larger 6.7-inch screen and higher listed battery capacity; the Galaxy S25 is smaller, has a newer chipset, and was listed for $200 less than the S24+ on AT&T’s US comparison page. That price gap is specific to AT&T’s listed retail starting prices, not a guarantee of today’s price elsewhere. The phones also start at different storage capacities, so compare matching configurations before deciding which is the better value.

How much is the price difference?

AT&T’s US comparison page, accessed October 7, 2026, lists retail starting prices of $999.99 for the Galaxy S24+ and $799.99 for the Galaxy S25—a $200 difference in that listing. Samsung’s US announcement for the S24+ also gave a $999.99 launch starting price with 256GB and 512GB options. The AT&T figures are not an all-retailer price survey or a promise of current street pricing.

The starting configurations are not equivalent: AT&T lists the S24+ with 256GB as its lowest storage option and the S25 with 128GB. To judge the price premium fairly, compare the same storage capacity where available, and check whether each offer is for an outright purchase or involves installment terms. Also account for carrier restrictions, condition, and any promotion rather than treating the listed starting prices as universal.

Which phone is better for your priorities?

Choose the Galaxy S24+ if you want a larger phone

  • You prefer a 6.7-inch display for viewing content or working on a larger screen.
  • You want the greater listed battery capacity of 4,900 mAh, while recognizing that capacity does not by itself predict runtime.
  • You need 256GB or want the 512GB option shown in AT&T’s listing.

Choose the Galaxy S25 if you want a more compact phone

  • You prefer the listed 6.2-inch display and smaller dimensions.
  • You want the newer named chipset, Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy.
  • The lower price on AT&T’s page suits your budget and 128GB or 256GB is enough for your needs.

Display size and everyday handling

The most immediately clear difference is size: Samsung specifies a 6.7-inch display for the S24+ and a 6.2-inch display for the S25. AT&T’s listed measurements likewise show the S24+ as taller and wider. If a large viewing area is a priority, that favors the S24+; if you would rather carry a smaller handset, the dimensions favor the S25. The cited specifications do not establish a measured brightness winner between these models.

Battery capacity is not a runtime test

AT&T lists 4,900 mAh for the S24+ and 4,000 mAh for the S25. Samsung describes its stated battery capacities as typical values based on laboratory measurement and notes that actual battery life can vary with network conditions, usage, and other factors. The larger capacity is a useful specification to consider, but the available figures do not provide a controlled head-to-head endurance result or show how many hours either phone will last for a particular person.

Chipset, memory, and performance

AT&T identifies the S24+ with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy and the S25 with Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy; Samsung also identifies the S25 series as using Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. That makes the S25 the newer named platform. Both phones are listed with 12GB of RAM by AT&T. The available specifications do not include independent benchmark results, so they do not support a specific speed advantage or percentage claim.

Camera specifications and what they do not tell you

AT&T lists the same headline rear-camera resolutions for both phones: a 50MP wide camera, 12MP ultra-wide camera, and 10MP telephoto camera. Samsung’s S25 announcement specifies 3× optical zoom for its 10MP telephoto camera. These specifications do not establish which phone takes better photos or video; a camera-quality verdict would require credible comparative testing.

Software listings and launch timing

AT&T’s listing snapshot identifies Android 14 for the S24+ and Android 15 for the S25, while noting that operating-system details are subject to future updates. Treat those entries as listing information rather than a lasting account of current software. Samsung announced general availability for the S25 beginning February 7, 2025; that launch date does not establish present-day inventory or discounts.

Verdict: decide by size, storage, and the offer in front of you

The S24+ makes more sense when its larger screen and available higher-storage configuration matter more to you than the listed price difference. The S25 is the more natural choice if you want the smaller form factor and newer named chipset, especially when the lower AT&T listed starting price applies to the configuration you would buy. Neither phone is an automatic better value: the storage tier, seller, condition, carrier terms, and current offer can change the comparison.
