The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE and Nothing Phone (4a) both have 120 Hz AMOLED displays, but their standout differences are screen resolution, camera hardware and documented software support. The Nothing has a higher-resolution panel and a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera; Samsung’s UK product page specifies a security-update endpoint of 31 October 2031. Neither those specs nor the prices seen in different markets establish which phone is the better buy everywhere.

What the screen and camera differences tell you
Display resolution and size
The Nothing’s listed resolution is 2720 × 1224, compared with 1080 × 2340 for Samsung’s 6.7-inch panel; Nothing’s listed diagonal is also slightly larger at 6.78 inches. Both specifications state a 120 Hz refresh rate. These figures establish a resolution and size difference, not which screen looks better in person: brightness, calibration, viewing conditions and individual preference also matter, and the cited specifications are not a direct display test.

Telephoto cameras
Samsung lists a 50 MP main camera, 12 MP ultra-wide and 8 MP telephoto, with 3× optical zoom and OIS. The reviewed Nothing configuration pairs a 50 MP main and 8 MP ultra-wide with a 50 MP periscope telephoto. More megapixels or a periscope design do not by themselves establish better photographs. TechRadar’s reviewer said the Phone (4a) struggled against an older S24 FE in that reviewer’s comparison; that is a review judgment, not a controlled laboratory result or a guarantee for every scene.
Battery capacity and software support
The published typical capacity for the S24 FE is 4,700 mAh; the Phone (4a) is listed at 5,080 mAh. Capacity alone does not determine how long a phone lasts between charges: hardware, software, settings and usage affect endurance, and the cited material does not provide a like-for-like battery test.
Rank #2
- The Galaxy S24 FE packs a large 6.7‑inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate, enhanced brightness and a “Vision Booster” mode — ideal for clear, bright visuals even outdoors.
For buyers prioritizing a stated support horizon, Samsung’s UK product page says security updates for the S24 FE are valid through 31 October 2031. Check Samsung’s terms for your country and exact model. TechRadar’s review identifies the Phone (4a)’s software version at review time but does not establish a comparable security-update end date, so it is not possible to conclude from these sources that its support lasts longer or shorter.

Which phone fits your priorities?
- Consider the Galaxy S24 FE if Samsung’s Galaxy software and ecosystem features suit you, or if the documented security-update endpoint is important. Confirm local support terms and the price for your specific configuration.
- Consider the Nothing Phone (4a) if its higher-resolution display, periscope telephoto hardware or design appeals to you. Those hardware specifications alone do not prove better image quality or battery endurance.
- Compare before buying if performance, camera results or battery life is decisive. The cited specifications and review do not provide controlled, same-condition tests across all three areas; look for comparable testing and current local prices for matching storage.
