The Galaxy S24 5G is the better fit if you want a compact phone, a dedicated 3x optical zoom camera, or wireless charging. The Galaxy A57 5G gives you a larger 6.7-inch screen and a higher stated battery capacity. There is no reliable universal price difference: the available figures come from different markets and sources, so compare the same storage, condition, seller, and country before deciding.

Galaxy S24 vs Galaxy A57: the key differences

Specifications are from Samsung’s Galaxy S24 specifications and Samsung’s Galaxy A57 announcement. The available sources do not establish a controlled, direct comparison of camera quality, battery endurance, or overall performance.

Which phone should you choose?

Choose the Galaxy S24 if you value compact size and extra camera options

  • Its 6.2-inch display makes it the smaller option compared with the A57’s 6.7-inch screen.
  • The dedicated 10MP telephoto camera provides 3x optical zoom; the A57’s third rear camera is a 5MP macro camera instead.
  • It supports wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare, which are not listed among the A57’s cited charging features.

Choose the Galaxy A57 if you want a larger screen and higher stated battery capacity

  • The 6.7-inch display offers more viewing area for video, reading, and other screen-focused tasks.
  • Its 5,000mAh typical battery capacity is higher than the S24’s 4,000mAh. That does not, by itself, predict how long either phone lasts in your use.
  • Its camera set includes a macro camera for close-up photography, rather than the S24’s dedicated optical telephoto camera.

How battery life and charging compare

Samsung lists typical capacities of 4,000mAh for the S24 and 5,000mAh for the A57. Samsung says the A57 can last up to two days under its stated conditions, while TechRadar reported roughly a day and a half of average use in its review. Those are different kinds of evidence, not a head-to-head battery test, so they do not establish which phone lasts longer for a particular person.

For charging, Samsung says the S24 can reach around 50% in about 30 minutes with a 25W adapter. Its U.S. launch material says the adapter and cable are sold separately and recommends a 25W adapter. The S24 also supports Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 and Wireless PowerShare. Samsung’s A57 announcement says it can reach up to 60% in around 30 minutes using Super Fast Charging 2.0. These are manufacturer claims; charging results depend on conditions and compatible equipment.

Performance, durability, and software support

Samsung describes the A57 as having upgraded CPU, GPU, and NPU capabilities, but the cited specifications do not provide a comparable S24 benchmark. In TechRadar’s A57 review, the reviewer found everyday scrolling and streaming fine, but said demanding games required compromises. The review’s 3DMark tests crashed, so they do not provide a completed result for those tests. This review is not a controlled S24-versus-A57 performance comparison.

Samsung states that the A57 has IP68 water and dust resistance, up to six Android OS/One UI generations, and up to six years of security updates. Samsung’s S24 launch material also states IP68 and identifies its launch software as Android 14 with One UI 6.1. A seven-year OS and security commitment was reported for S24-era devices, but the cited launch source does not give an exact end date. For a purchase, check Samsung’s current support policy for the specific model and region rather than inferring a calendar cutoff.

What is the price difference?

The available price figures do not support one current, global price difference. Samsung’s U.S. announcement set the A57’s launch starting price at $549.99, with U.S. availability from April 9, 2026. That is a U.S. launch price, not a current offer or a price for every storage version.

For India, 91mobiles displayed Amazon listing snapshots of ₹64,990 for the S24 and ₹56,999 for the A57 when accessed in October 2026. These are volatile marketplace prices, not verified matched offers or official list prices. They may change, and they should not be applied to other countries. The available figures do not establish a current official S24 price or matched prices by storage.

For a meaningful comparison, check local listings for the same country, storage capacity, condition, seller type, and purchase date. Availability and storage configurations differ by region. Samsung Global said the A57 would be available from April 10, 2026, in select markets; the U.S. announcement gives April 9 for U.S. availability. TechRadar’s review lists launch prices and configurations across the U.S., UK, and Australia, but those are secondary-source launch figures, not current offers. Samsung’s U.S. S24 launch material is also the source for the U.S. charging-accessory details above.

Bottom line: decide by size, camera, and local price

Pick the Galaxy S24 if its smaller body, 3x optical zoom, or wireless charging matters enough to justify its local price. Pick the Galaxy A57 if you prefer the larger display and higher stated battery capacity, and its price for your desired configuration makes sense. Without matched, current local offers, neither is a universal value winner.
