The Galaxy S23 is the smaller, lighter option; the Galaxy S23 FE has a larger screen and a higher listed battery capacity. The FE’s processor varies by market, and the available launch prices come from different countries and dates, so they do not establish which phone is cheaper today.

Samsung’s cited specifications make the S23 the more compact phone: it is 0.3 inches smaller diagonally and 41 g lighter than the cited S23 FE. The FE’s listed battery capacity is larger, but capacity alone does not show how long either phone lasts in real-world use.
Which phone is better for your needs?
Choose the S23 if a compact, lighter phone matters
The 6.1-inch display and 168 g weight make the S23 the more manageable choice on paper. Its listed rear cameras include a 10 MP telephoto camera, compared with 8 MP telephoto on the FE. These specifications describe hardware, not a guarantee of better photos or overall performance.

The S23 FE’s 6.4-inch screen gives it the larger viewing area, while its 4,500 mAh typical battery capacity is higher than the S23’s 3,900 mAh. The FE is also heavier at 209 g. The cited specifications do not establish which phone has longer battery life.
#1 Best Overall
- Galaxy S23 sports a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X flat display with adaptive 48–120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and a peak brightness high enough for strong outdoor visibility — giving you vibrant, crisp visuals and smooth motion while staying compact.
Check the S23 FE processor for your region
The S23 FE does not have one processor listed across all cited Samsung regional sources. Samsung Canada specifies Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while Samsung Gulf lists Exynos 2200. Before buying, verify the exact model code and market for the listing you are considering; regional configurations, network bands, storage options, availability, and software rollout can differ. The S23 specification cited here lists Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy. Chip names alone do not provide a directly comparable benchmark result, so they should not be treated as proof of a particular performance gap.

Camera specifications: what the numbers do and do not tell you
Both phones list 50 MP wide and 12 MP ultra-wide rear cameras, plus a telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The S23 telephoto camera is listed at 10 MP and the S23 FE’s at 8 MP. Megapixels indicate sensor resolution; they do not by themselves establish image quality. The available specifications support a hardware comparison, not a tested ranking of photos. Which is cheaper, the S23 or S23 FE?
A reliable current price difference is not established by the available figures. The cited launch prices are from different markets and years, so subtracting them would not produce a meaningful comparison. Check both phones in your country, for the same storage capacity and condition, and compare the seller and any applicable offer.

For a like-for-like comparison, note the model and storage shown on each current listing, then check whether the phone is new or used and whether the price depends on a promotion or payment method. A difference calculated from mismatched configurations or launch-era prices can mislead.
