The Samsung Galaxy S23 is the more compact phone and the one with a dedicated 3x optical telephoto camera. Motorola’s larger Edge 70 Pro prioritizes a 6.8-inch, 144 Hz display, a higher stated battery capacity, and 90 W wired charging. The better fit depends on whether you value manageable size and optical zoom or screen space and charging specifications.

Which phone is easier to handle?
The Galaxy S23 is the clear choice if you want a smaller phone. Its 6.1-inch display sits in a body that is 146.3 mm tall and 70.9 mm wide, with a listed weight of 168 g. The Edge 70 Pro’s display is 6.8 inches, and its listed body dimensions are 162.7 × 75.6 mm. It will take up more room in a hand or pocket.

#1 Best Overall
- Galaxy S23 sports a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X flat display with adaptive 48–120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and a peak brightness high enough for strong outdoor visibility — giving you vibrant, crisp visuals and smooth motion while staying compact.
Which display gives you more?
The Edge 70 Pro has the larger panel and the higher listed refresh-rate ceiling: 6.8 inches and up to 144 Hz, versus the S23’s 6.1-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display at up to 120 Hz. That makes Motorola’s specification more appealing if you prioritize screen area or a higher refresh-rate rating. The figures alone do not establish which screen looks better in everyday use.
Which phone has the better camera setup?
Galaxy S23: a dedicated optical telephoto camera
The S23 has three listed rear cameras: a 50 MP main, a 12 MP ultrawide, and a 10 MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. Choose it if having a dedicated telephoto lens and optical reach is important to your framing.

Edge 70 Pro: main and ultrawide cameras
Motorola lists a 50 MP main camera and a 50 MP ultrawide camera with autofocus and macro. Its cited specification does not list a separate telephoto camera. Megapixel counts do not by themselves show how good a camera’s photos are, so these specifications support a comparison of camera types, not an overall image-quality winner.

Which has the better battery and charging specifications?
Motorola lists a 6,500 mAh typical battery and 90 W wired charging for the Edge 70 Pro. It also says typical capacity is an estimated average and gives a rated capacity of 6,300 mAh. Samsung lists a 3,900 mAh typical battery and 25 W wired charging for the Galaxy S23, along with wireless charging.

The Edge 70 Pro has the larger stated capacity and higher wired charging wattage. Those figures do not prove it lasts longer in real use: runtime depends on more than battery capacity, and a matched battery test is not available here. Charging wattage is also a specification, not a measured charge-time comparison.
Do processor, RAM, or storage make one the faster choice?
The phones use different platforms: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy in the S23 and MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme in the Edge 70 Pro. Without a directly comparable test, the processor names alone do not establish which phone is faster.
Rank #4
- It offers a 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive 48-120 Hz refresh rate plus up to ~ 1750 nits peak brightness and “Vision Booster,” meaning the screen stays bright and viewable even in strong sunlight — great if you use your phone outdoors a lot.
The S23 specification lists 8 GB of RAM with either 128 GB or 256 GB of storage. Motorola lists the Edge 70 Pro with 8 GB or 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 4.1 storage. Confirm the exact local SKU, particularly if you want the 12 GB configuration. Neither cited manufacturer specification lists microSD expansion.
How do protection and software-support claims compare?
Samsung’s cited carrier specification sheet lists Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and Armor Aluminum. Motorola lists IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD-810H for the Edge 70 Pro. These are different kinds of materials and protection claims; they do not establish how either phone will fare in identical real-world conditions.

Motorola’s support page lists Android 16 and “Up to 3 years” of OS upgrades plus security patches. The cited Samsung specification page covers hardware and does not establish a current support end date for the S23. Check the policy for your country and exact model before choosing based on software longevity.

Motorola India’s official family page displayed the Edge 70 Pro in both 8/256 GB and 12/256 GB configurations at ₹39,999, with an MRP of ₹51,999. That is an India-specific page snapshot checked on 2026-10-07, not a guaranteed checkout price or a worldwide price. Motorola’s announcement says the phone would roll out to select countries and regions across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific, with local pricing and availability handled regionally.
A like-for-like current Galaxy S23 price was not established, so a reliable numeric price difference cannot be calculated from these figures. To compare offers, use prices for the same market and check them at the same time; match storage, condition, seller, and the exact regional model. Motorola notes that its specifications can vary by market, so confirm the local variant as well as price and carrier-band compatibility.
