Samsung has started rolling out One UI 9, but it has not published a Galaxy S23 release date in the official sources reviewed. One UI 9 is Samsung’s Android 17 upgrade; the rollout began on newer Galaxy devices and is expected to expand gradually. That does not establish when the S23 will receive it.
Has Samsung announced a Galaxy S23 One UI 9 date?
No. Samsung’s One UI 9 support page, last updated October 9, 2026, says other Galaxy models will be added as rollout continues, but does not name a Galaxy S23 date. Samsung’s September 16, 2026 announcement likewise describes a gradual expansion to other Galaxy devices without specifying when the S23 will be included. So “soon” should not be treated as a promised timeframe. A staged rollout can reach devices at different times, but the announcement does not support predicting the S23’s timing from the order in which other models received the update.
Where the One UI 9 rollout stands
Samsung describes One UI 9 as an Android 17 upgrade. Its September 16, 2026 announcement said the expansion began with the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra, after One UI 9 debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8. Samsung said the update would gradually roll out to other Galaxy devices; it did not give a device-by-device schedule.

What the Galaxy S23 update history shows
Samsung’s update log for the Galaxy S23 SM-S911B lists Android 16, with a September 30, 2026 release carrying the September 5 security patch. The log’s recent history shows One UI 8.5 on Android 16, not One UI 9. Samsung Galaxy S23 SM-S911B update history.
That log applies to the specified model and market, not every S23 variant or carrier. Samsung’s security-support listing includes the Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, and S23 FE for monthly firmware security updates, but a security-update cadence is not a schedule or commitment for a major One UI release. Does a One UI 9 feature listing confirm the S23 update?
No. Samsung lists privacy alerts as a One UI 9 feature supported on S23-family devices, but feature compatibility does not prove that the full One UI 9 update has reached those phones or establish a release date. Samsung notes that feature availability can vary by country, region, language, model, and software version. Samsung One UI Software Update support page.
