You can’t turn off the Galaxy S22’s moisture-detection safeguard through a Samsung-supported setting or procedure. When the phone shows a moisture warning, unplug the cable and let the USB port dry; wired charging is blocked to help protect the port from damage. If you need power, use wireless charging only after the phone is thoroughly dry.
Why the Galaxy S22 blocks wired charging
Samsung says its devices will not charge when moisture is present in the charging port and a cable is connected. The safeguard helps prevent corrosion or damage to the USB port. Samsung’s support guidance does not document an approved way to disable it, so treat the warning as a reason to stop wired charging rather than something to bypass. How to clear the moisture warning safely
- Unplug the cable. Disconnect the charger from the phone as soon as the alert appears. Do not continue trying to charge through the USB port while it may be wet.
- Help moisture drain. Gently shake the phone with the charging port facing down to help remove moisture. Do not insert anything into the port.
- Let the phone air-dry. Place it in a well-ventilated area. Samsung estimates that water may evaporate from the port in approximately 1 to 2 hours; this is an estimate, not a guaranteed drying time. Its troubleshooting guidance recommends cool air and cautions against putting objects into the port. See Samsung’s drying instructions.
- Take extra care after exposure to other liquids. If a liquid other than fresh water entered the port, Samsung advises rinsing the port with fresh water and drying the device thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth.
- Check for visible debris without probing the port. Samsung’s charging guidance recommends using a soft brush if foreign material is visible. Do not use metal tools or push other objects into the connector. See Samsung’s charging tips.
Can you charge the S22 while the USB port dries?
Galaxy S22 models support wireless charging, which avoids using the USB port. Use a compatible wireless charger only after the phone is thoroughly dry; wireless charging is an alternative, not a way to disable moisture detection. Samsung lists the S22 series among wireless-charging-compatible phones in its wireless charging troubleshooting guidance.

What if the warning remains after drying?
If the alert persists after the phone has had time to dry, or wired charging remains unreliable, contact Samsung Support or visit a Samsung service center. Corrosion or another port issue may need inspection. A continuing warning does not by itself prove that the moisture sensor is faulty. Samsung also provides troubleshooting steps for Galaxy devices that will not charge when connected to a PC.

Why not try a bypass?
Samsung’s reviewed support guidance offers drying and troubleshooting steps, not a procedure for disabling moisture protection. It does not establish that clearing cache, repeatedly restarting the phone, or installing a third-party app will turn off the warning. Avoid treating those steps as a fix for a possibly wet or damaged port.
