The Samsung Galaxy M17 5G is the better fit for a sharper AMOLED display and Samsung’s stated software-update plan. The Moto G37 Power 5G favors a larger battery, a faster-refreshing screen and microSD expansion. Their prices are not directly comparable without checking the same RAM and storage configuration on the same date: the available figures come from different offers and snapshots.

These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent comparative test results. Motorola cautions that specifications can differ by market. Neither battery capacity nor camera megapixel count alone establishes real-world performance.
Which display is better?
The M17 has the sharper, higher-resolution panel: FHD+ Super AMOLED at 90Hz. The G37 Power has a lower-resolution HD+ LCD but a higher 120Hz refresh rate. Choose Samsung if resolution and AMOLED are priorities; choose Motorola if a faster refresh rate matters more. The refresh-rate figure does not make the Motorola screen sharper.

Which has the bigger battery?
The Moto G37 Power has the larger stated battery: 7000mAh typical versus 5000mAh typical for the Galaxy M17. Motorola also lists 30W wired charging and 6W wired reverse charging; Samsung supports 25W charging. The capacities do not establish how long either phone lasts in a particular person’s use, and Samsung’s 25W charger is sold separately.

How do the cameras compare?
Samsung lists three rear cameras, including a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), plus 5MP and 2MP modules. Motorola lists a 50MP main camera with phase-detection autofocus (PDAF) and electronic video stabilization. The M17 also has a higher stated front-camera resolution, 13MP versus 8MP. Without matched photo and video testing, these figures do not show which phone produces better images.
What is the price difference?
There is no reliable like-for-like current price difference in the available figures. Samsung’s October 13, 2025 announcement gave launch-offer prices, while its purchase page and Motorola’s India family page displayed separate page snapshots. The snapshots may change, and Motorola’s displayed price is not tied to a specific configuration in the cited listing.

Do not subtract Samsung’s historical launch offer from Motorola’s page snapshot and call the result a current price difference. For a valid comparison, check both phones on the same day, using the exact RAM and storage variants and seller. Note whether bank, exchange or other conditional discounts are included.
Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Galaxy M17 5G if
- You want an FHD+ Super AMOLED screen rather than a higher-refresh, lower-resolution LCD.
- Samsung’s stated OS-upgrade and security-update plan is important to you, with the caveat that Samsung describes it as a plan rather than a commitment.
- You value the listed OIS-equipped main rear camera and additional rear modules, while recognizing that module count is not a substitute for photo testing.
- You prefer the lighter listed weight: 192g compared with the Motorola’s 215g.
Choose the Moto G37 Power 5G if
- You prioritize the larger stated battery capacity.
- You prefer a 120Hz display and are comfortable with HD+ LCD resolution.
- You need documented microSD expansion up to 1TB.
- You want the listed wired reverse-charging support.
What the specifications do not settle
The published chipset names and 6nm process descriptions do not establish which phone is faster; no validated head-to-head benchmark is available here. Likewise, manufacturer battery capacities do not prove a specific runtime advantage, and no matched-device battery test is established. Treat both phones’ protection ratings as limited manufacturer claims, not proof that either is waterproof or indestructible. Motorola’s support page also cautions that specifications may vary by market.
