The Galaxy F36 5G is the better fit if you want the higher listed screen refresh rate; the Galaxy M17 5G stands out for Samsung-documented IP54 protection, Gorilla Glass Victus and 25 W charging support. Both have 5G, FHD+ Super AMOLED displays, optical image stabilization (OIS) and 5,000 mAh typical batteries. There is no reliable single price difference to quote: Samsung’s published figures are from different dates, variants and availability states.

Specifications are from Samsung India’s Galaxy F36 specifications and Galaxy M17 specifications. M17 launch details and historical prices are in Samsung’s 13 October 2025 launch announcement. Price fields on Samsung product pages can change.
Which phone has the better display?
The F36 lists a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz, compared with 90 Hz for the M17. That gives the F36 the higher stated refresh-rate ceiling, which may matter if smoother scrolling is a priority. Both are in the same broad display class: 6.7-inch-class FHD+ Super AMOLED. The listed refresh rate alone does not establish overall display quality.

Samsung documents OIS on both phones. The F36 lists a 50 MP main camera alongside 8 MP and 2 MP rear cameras; Samsung describes the M17 as having a 50 MP OIS triple-camera system with ultra-wide and macro cameras. These specifications do not establish which phone takes better photos, so megapixel counts and feature descriptions should not be treated as a camera-quality ranking.

- Please note, this device does not support eSIM. This device is compatible with T-Mobile networks and its MVNOs in the United States, carrier compatibility, activation, and network performance may vary depending on IMEI acceptance policies, carrier requirements, regional network support, and available frequency bands.
- NOT compatible with the MVNO's (Spectrum, Cricket, Xfinity, H2O, Visible, etc.), may not recognize international IMEI numbers for activation. Carrier compatibility is not guaranteed in all areas of the United States. Please verify compatibility with your carrier prior to purchase. No U.S. manufacturer warranty; seller return policy applies.
- The included 25W Fast Charger is a generic accessory and is not a Samsung-branded charger, 6.7" FHD+ Super AMOLED, 120Hz, 1080x2340px, Fingerprint (under display, optical), IP67 dust and water resistance
- 256GB, 8GB, No SD Card Slot, Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 (4nm), Octa-core, Adreno 710 GPU, Android 15, up to 6 major Android upgrades, One UI 7
- Rear Camera: 50MP, f/1.8 + 8MP, f/2.2 + 5MP, f/2.4, Front Camera: 12MP, f/2.2, 5000mAh Battery, Bluetooth 5.4
Both phones are listed with a 5,000 mAh typical battery. Samsung’s M17 launch material documents 25 W charging support; the cited F36 material does not establish a charging-speed figure for a direct comparison. Battery capacity by itself does not show how long either phone lasts in use.
Which has clearer durability and software-support claims?
Samsung documents an IP54 rating and Gorilla Glass Victus for the M17. The cited F36 specifications do not establish a matching durability claim, which is not proof that the F36 lacks protection. For software, Samsung lists F36 security updates as valid through 31 December 2031. For the M17, Samsung announced six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Because these commitments are stated differently, they do not support a simple support-period winner without aligning their dates and terms.

What is the price difference in India?
A dependable current difference cannot be calculated from the published figures below: they are not all from the same date, and the M17 launch prices are not verified current prices. Samsung’s M17 announcement dated 13 October 2025 listed the following launch prices; the ₹12,499 base figure included a special offer.

| M17, 4 GB/128 GB | ₹12,499 | Samsung launch price, 13 October 2025; included a special offer |
| M17, 6 GB/128 GB | ₹13,999 | Samsung launch price, 13 October 2025 |

| F36, 6 GB/128 GB | From ₹21,999 | Displayed on Samsung India’s buy page when reviewed in 2026 |
Samsung’s M17 buy page also displayed ₹19,999 for 4 GB/128 GB and ₹22,999 for 6 GB/128 GB, but the selected item was marked “Not for sale” when reviewed. That makes those listings unsuitable as confirmed purchase prices. Check both phones’ live listings in India immediately before buying, and compare the same RAM and storage configuration where possible. Samsung notes that price and availability may change on its F36 buy page and M17 buy page.

Which should you choose?
- Choose the F36 if its listed 120 Hz maximum refresh rate is the feature you value most.
- Choose the M17 if Samsung-documented IP54 protection, Gorilla Glass Victus or its stated 25 W charging support is more important to you.
- Compare live prices before deciding if value is the deciding factor. The available launch and product-page prices differ in date, variant, offer status and availability, so they do not establish a fair current price gap.
There is no evidence here for a tested performance, camera-quality or battery-endurance winner. Make the choice based on the features above and the current price for the exact configuration you intend to buy.
