The Samsung Galaxy F36 5G costs ₹500 more than the Galaxy M17e 5G for the 6GB/128GB variants on Samsung India’s listings retrieved on October 7, 2026. In return, the F36 lists a sharper FHD+ Super AMOLED screen, rear-camera optical image stabilization (OIS), and 4K video recording. The M17e lists a larger 6,000 mAh battery and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results; prices may change.

Specifications are from Samsung India’s F36 and M17e pages. Samsung lists both screens at up to 120 Hz, but that shared refresh-rate figure does not make their resolutions or panel technologies equivalent.
What is the price difference in India?
For the matched 6GB/128GB variants, Samsung India displayed the F36 from ₹21,999 and the M17e from ₹21,499 when the listings were retrieved on October 7, 2026. Which phone has the better display?
On listed specifications, the F36 has the display advantage: its 6.7-inch-class screen is FHD+ Super AMOLED, while the similarly sized M17e screen is HD+ PLS LCD. Both are listed with refresh rates up to 120 Hz. The difference in resolution and panel type may matter if you prioritize screen detail and AMOLED, but specifications alone cannot establish which looks better in person.
How do their cameras and video recording compare?
The F36 lists three rear cameras (50MP, 8MP, and 2MP) and OIS; the M17e lists two (50MP and 2MP), with no rear OIS listed on Samsung’s specification page. Samsung also lists UHD 4K recording at 30 fps for the F36 and FHD 1080p at 30 fps for the M17e. The F36’s front camera is listed at 13MP versus 8MP on the M17e.

These are hardware and supported-recording-mode differences, not proof of superior photos, stabilization in every situation, or better video quality. No independent camera testing is established by these specifications.
Does the M17e’s larger battery mean longer battery life?
Samsung lists a typical capacity of 6,000 mAh for the M17e and 5,000 mAh for the F36. The M17e therefore has the higher stated capacity, but capacity alone does not establish how long either phone lasts. Screen settings, network conditions, usage, and test methods affect battery life.

What differs for headphones, SIMs, and network support?
Wired headphones
The M17e lists a 3.5 mm stereo jack. Samsung lists USB Type-C as the F36’s earjack, which is a practical distinction if you use wired headphones.
Two SIMs and a memory card
Both phones list dual SIM support and a hybrid SIM/microSD slot, with microSD expansion up to 2 TB. Because the slot is hybrid, check the tray arrangement if you need two SIMs and a memory card at the same time.

5G bands
Both specifications list 5G Sub-6, USB Type-C, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.3, but their listed supported bands differ. Verify compatibility with your carrier and location rather than assuming the phones support the same bands.

What does Samsung say about software support?
Samsung’s F36 specifications state that its security update period is valid until December 31, 2031. For the M17e, Samsung states six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from the first global launch date. These statements use different terms, so they do not establish a precise relative support end date by themselves. Review Samsung’s applicable support details when deciding how long you plan to keep the phone.

Which should you choose?
- Choose the F36 on specifications if FHD+ Super AMOLED, listed rear OIS, the 13MP front camera, or 4K/30 recording matters most to you.
- Choose the M17e on specifications if its stated 6,000 mAh capacity or 3.5 mm headphone jack better fits your priorities, and you are comfortable with its HD+ LCD and the absence of listed rear OIS.
- Compare the live prices for the same memory configuration. The October 7, 2026 Samsung India snapshot put the matched 6GB/128GB F36 ₹500 above the M17e, but listings and offers can change.
