For a comfortable fit, first identify your exact Galaxy Buds model: Buds3 is open-type and has no ear tips, while Buds3 Pro and Buds3 FE use ear tips and older Buds and Buds+ use tips and wingtips. Insert the earbuds gently, make small adjustments, and stop if you feel pain or skin irritation.
Identify your Galaxy Buds design first
The right wearing method depends on the model. Check its name in your device settings, the Galaxy Wearable app, or the product packaging before changing tips or following a fit-test procedure. Samsung’s US instructions cover the models below; availability and details can differ by market, so consult the local support page if your model or interface does not match.
| Design | Models covered here | How to adjust | Fit test |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open-type, no ear tips | Galaxy Buds3 | Match L and R, position the microphone toward your mouth, then rotate slightly for comfort. | Not listed as compatible by Samsung’s current US fit-test page. |
| In-ear with tips | Galaxy Buds3 Pro and Buds3 FE | Choose a supplied tip size, insert gently, and make small rotations. Samsung advises avoiding a gap between the tip and ear. | Supported according to Samsung’s current US page for Buds3 Pro; Buds3 FE is not listed there. |
| In-ear with tips and wingtips | Original Galaxy Buds and Buds+ | Attach the tips and wingtips, place the wingtip upward, then rotate to adjust. | Not listed as compatible by Samsung’s current US fit-test page. |
The fit-test compatibility list is narrower than the wearing guidance for Buds3 FE: Samsung’s current US page lists Buds4 Pro, Buds3 Pro, Buds2 Pro, and Buds2. Do not assume that a model supports the test just because it has ear tips.
How to wear each model
Galaxy Buds and Buds+
- Attach the ear tips and wingtips before putting the earbuds in. Samsung cautions against using these models without their ear tips.
- Place each earbud in the matching ear with the wingtip facing upward.
- Rotate the earbud gently until it feels comfortable. If comfort or sound quality is poor, try another supplied tip or wingtip size.
Do not pull the tips excessively while fitting them. Samsung’s model-specific instructions are at How to wear Galaxy Buds or Buds+.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Galaxy Buds3
- Match the L and R marks to your left and right ears.
- Insert each open-type bud with its marking facing you.
- Angle the blade so the lower microphone points toward your mouth, then rotate slightly forward or backward to find a comfortable position.
Buds3 has no ear tips, so do not try to fit it using in-ear tip instructions or look for a replacement tip. See Samsung’s Buds3 wearing guidance.
Galaxy Buds3 Pro and Buds3 FE
- Choose the supplied tip size that feels comfortable. Samsung says the tip should sit against the ear without a gap, which helps avoid sound leakage.
- Match the L and R markings and insert each earbud into the corresponding ear without forcing it.
- Angle the blade so the lower microphone points toward your mouth.
- Rotate the earbud slightly forward or backward to refine the fit.
Samsung’s exact guidance for these tip-equipped models is available on its Buds3, Buds3 Pro, and Buds3 FE support page. Do not use Buds3 Pro without its tips. If the supplied sizes do not fit, verify the exact model and compatibility before buying replacement tips.

Use an earbud fit test when your model supports it
Samsung’s current US fit-test page lists Galaxy Buds4 Pro, Buds3 Pro, Buds2 Pro, and Buds2 as compatible. It does not list Buds3, Buds3 FE, original Buds, Buds+, Buds Live, or the original Buds Pro. Compatibility may vary as software and support pages change.
- Connect the compatible earbuds to your device.
- Open the earbuds’ settings and select Sound quality and effects.
- Choose Earbud fit test, then tap Start.
- If the result indicates a poor fit, adjust the earbuds and repeat the test.
On software older than One UI 8.0, Samsung says the settings may instead be in the Galaxy Wearable app. If the menu is missing, check Samsung’s current earbud fit-test instructions for your device and software.

What to do if Galaxy Buds keep falling out
- Confirm the model and orientation. Check L and R marks; for Buds and Buds+, make sure the wingtip faces upward.
- Adjust tip-equipped models gradually. Try the supplied tip sizes and make small rotations rather than pushing the bud deeper. For Buds3 Pro and Buds3 FE, check whether the tip sits against the ear without a gap.
- Do not apply tip advice to Buds3. Its open-type design has no tips; adjust its angle and slight forward or backward rotation instead.
- Use the fit test only if supported. A result can guide adjustments on listed models, but it is not a universal feature for every Galaxy Buds model.
- Check model-specific support if the fit remains poor. Samsung’s regional guidance notes that model details may vary by purchase location; use the support page for your exact model and market.
Wear and clean the earbuds safely
Do not press an earbud into your ear with excessive force. Samsung advises discontinuing use and consulting a doctor if ear pain or skin irritation occurs. Remove the earbuds periodically and dry your ears to reduce moisture buildup.
Clean gently and follow the instructions for your model. Samsung’s guidance uses dry cloths, cotton swabs, or dry brushes where applicable; it warns against harsh chemicals and metal or wire brushes. Do not assume one cleaning method suits every model. See Samsung’s Galaxy earbuds cleaning instructions.
